[edit] So... many... characters...
You might notice that some old pages such as Pico (F-Zero) now redirect here. I feel that many of the characters don't need their own page, and are better off just being listed here. Important characters will have their own articles that will be listed here. Agree? Disagree? Headcase88
Here's the character profile website. Use that to aid you if you want to add more characters.
- I would just use my F-Zero GX instruction booklet. :P -Hevendor
I got these numbers:
32 - F-Zero GX
12 - F-Zero AX
10 - F-Zero Max. Velocity
04 - F-Zero GP Legend
02 - F-Zero Climax

[edit] More characters
I'm going to start adding more characters to the list. Would I be in danger of copyright infringement if I left their bios in exactly the same wording as is used in the instruction booklet? -Hevendor
- You can do that, but I don't recommend it. You can (1) move the words around to make it different than what's in the instruction booklet but mean almost exactly the same thing. Also, if you know their (assuming that specific pilot has one) story in the F-Zero series, mainly F-Zero GX, since I don't think any other F-Zero game has a story mode, that'll be good to add since that will mostly, by you, be in its own words. An example of Story would be what was just posted under :DeathBorn, but should be more cleaner.
So, (2) I also recommend that you can combine mostly the same wording as is used in the instruction booklet IF they have a story since you can make that up easily.

Hmm...I think I'll just change the wording from the instruction booklet. Thanks. -Hevendor
[edit] Deathborne
Deathborne is unlocked as a AX pilot in the very hard difficulty of one of the story chapters. Should he not be listed on the AX pilot list..? -ZeroTalk 02:50, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Actually, he's unlocked upon completing the final chapter on any difficulty.--Ragey 23:49, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] MV, GPL and Climax characters?
The MV and Climax characters have no description, and the GPL ones have very brief descriptions compared to the huge descriptions of other racers. And why was the link to Luna Ryder erased? She is a very important character in the anime indeed. And the list is quite deorganized. Couldn't we create articles for each racer, and link them all on the list? --I Am Magnustalk 19:01, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Each "X" character? no. However I'm not too sure about the characters that debuted in the anime nor the GBA games since they have little background information. Like Luna Rydar's role in GP Legend can be redirected, while another description about her can be in the anime's article. Climax was only released in Japan so I found very little information on those. FMF|contact 19:52, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was just asking if that was OK. --I Am Magnustalk 16:33, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- Like I said, no due to notability. FMF|contact 23:20, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jody Summer
She is one of the characters in the franchise that have a retcon in age. When she made her first appearance, she was originally given the age of 24, but in subsequent games, her age has been retconned and she is now 25 years old. --PJ Pete
- That's because from F-Zero X to F-Zero GX, one year has passed in the game's timeline. Everyone's pretty much one year older. (This is not counting the horrendous age sliding they did for GP Legend, where Jack is 24, Kate is 25 and Jody's age is unknown; but GP Legend -so far- is not considered canon either) Mekairinek 03:14, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merged characters
I fail to see why Deathborn is so special to get his own entry in this list yet the victims of the "merge" including Jody Summers and Black Shadow don't. It seems a bit inconsistent to me. 24.159.39.11 22:35, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- It is pretty rediculous, I agree. I don't even have Deathborn on my game, cause he is rediculous to get. Major character such as Jody Summer, Jack Levin, Black Shawdow, John Panaka, and Michael Chain should all get at least the same coverage as Deathborn. There should be no super love for one character while the other 31 get none. Casey14 21:13, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Changed a few things
I saw that Lucy, Haruka and Lisa's machines were not added, so I did so.
I also added Berserker (in actuality Captain Falcon) from 'Climax'.
Plus I removed all the F-Zero X info. Most of that stuff -such as last names and "real" names- was made up especially for the North American release, but most of that is ignored completely by GX canon. (I only used Arbin Gordon for Skull, since he was officially called that in F-Zero X in Japan) Unless someone knows where exactly Phoenix's last name is mentioned as 'Lestrade', that too is not considered official canon.
The way I see it, if it's not mentioned in the game itself -be it through the manual or strategy guide-, it's not canon.
Hope that's okay, just trying to keep things straight.
Mekairinek 03:06, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Or maybe this is what happens when you have outside development houses producing your games? Unfortunately, a lot of events and such were ignored/redone in GX. Yes, thanks for clearing that up, though there is a lack of (if any) sources about localization, etc. btw if you have any F-Zero manuals, feel free to upload them to Replacement docs, etc.
- "..in the game itself -be it through the manual or strategy guide-, it's not canon"
- Well such information is not going to be in an N64 cartridge so where else to put it other than fzerox.com? I'm assuming names such as "Arbin Gordon" are located in 1) the Japanese version of fzerox.com (did it even exist?) or 2) it is stated in the manual.
- Now with what your now saying, how is Arbin Gordon an exception? I doubt that name is in GX. Nevertheless maybe that and the other names can be added in their own seperate column. FMF 21:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- I say that Arbin Gordon is considered 'official', since it was indeed on the Japanese F-Zero X site, where as in the translation, he was changed to 'The Skull' (which stuck). Here is the site in question. I guess 'The Skull' was a Localization thing that carried over into GX.
-
- It's also worth noting that the Japanese FZX site also references Dr. Stewart's dad as Kevin, rather than the improvised name used for the North American website biographies. (I believe one of my friends has copies of all the biographies from the site, or at least text ones)
-
- I also agree about the seperate names as well. Considering Mighty Gazelle is also called 'Roy Hughes' in GP Legend (since he's Crank's father in that continuity, but that's a long story in of itself), that might be a good idea to have an 'Also known as' site table or some such table like that. How that could be accomplished without making it cluttered, I'm not sure. Mekairinek 23:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Their all part of F-Zero so all of that should be included. Besides X, GX, and GP Legend, there aren't any more name alterations in the other games right? Also, were the names only used in the American version of F-Zero X or is it the same case in Europe, etc? Anyway, the tables will have to be replaced. One of the Featured lists should have a table that can be used here or at least provide inspiration. I'm thinking about using one of those formats. FMF 17:35, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge
Neither of the single characters have real world information (Falcon's is general info that belongs here). The three lists only add up to 40KB, so there is no need for them to be separate. Many of those characters can probably be cut, though. TTN (talk) 23:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- That is true, but couldn't the same thing be said about a lot of the Pokemon lists? After all, the Digimon lists were all moved to its own Wiki. « ₣ullMetal ₣alcon » 03:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- It's quite possible that those lists don't belong. I'll save that for another discussion, though. TTN (talk) 17:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Merge it, what is usable would fill a subsection of this article, not a whole individual one. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 23:19, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's quite possible that those lists don't belong. I'll save that for another discussion, though. TTN (talk) 17:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Seems to be done. Perhaps the rest can be moved to wikia:fzero. « ₣ullMetal ₣alcon » 22:12, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- Falcon having a section is warranted, so I'll merge him over soon. Goroh doesn't seem to hold much weight, so he can probably just be moved over. It's going to take a while, but eventually, we should have equal weight distribution with all characters. There are just too many to deal with at once. TTN (talk) 22:17, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] James McCloud
Is it just me, or does his name, job, and mabye even hairstyle(mabye) say that he is Fox McCloud's father? If so, is it not possible that the games are interconnected? Should this possibility be mentioned in the article? Kaos Machina (talk) 17:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- The James McCloud character in the F-Zero series is just a homage to the 'real' (poor choice of words on my part, but I couldn't think of anything more suitable) James McCloud, Fox's father. It's one of Nintendo's ways of acknowledging the other series. The James McCloud in F-Zero couldn't be Fox's father anyway, because he's human, and the James McCloud in the Starfox series is an anthropomorphic fox, and the only connections the two share are those that you listed. Zerolus (talk) 23:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
True... and I do have possible explanations for that, but I will not post them here, as not only are they speculation, but I am afraid that it might just turn into a shouting match, as I believe that the only people who can definitively settle this are the creators themselves. Agreed? Kaos Machina (talk) 15:26, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? There's no connection between the characters other than James being a homage to the starfox character. He's even the leader of "Galaxy Dogs" which is a parody of Star Fox151.196.141.114 (talk) 00:29, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Falcon has his own article again...
It's not by my doing, by the way. Some of the info on it is wrong, but I'm not going to do anything about it now. What is the consensus on it anyway? ChromeWulf ZX (talk) 20:15, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I believe that Captain Falcon Should have his own Wiki page, what is there to lose if he has his own article? His popularity has increased from the new Super Smash Bros Brawl game and he has way too much information for just one merged page thus I believe that Captain Douglas Jay Falcon Deserves his own page and no one else.
