Talk:List of Enochian angels
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The article treats a plural noun as singular here: every entity enters the cosmic planes of manifestation as an unself-conscious life-atoms. Will someone who knows for sure what this means please fix the inconsistency?
HBr redirects here. Hbr should redirect to Hydrobromic Acid, the same as HCL, HF, H2O, etc. redirect to their chemical pages.
Why isn't this list at Enochian? Are we soon to be treated to individual entries, viz:
- Aaan is a minor angel in Enochian.
Voilà! first one done! Wetman 02:11, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC).
Cms is described as a cacodemon, but when I went to the latter article it was about a DOOM enemy and a Dungeons & Dragons spell. Could somebody who knows from Enochian occultism provide an article on cacodemons in that system? — Gwalla | Talk 02:58, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Okay, somebody just made all of the angel names into links. But most of the names are redirects to this list, creating an illusion that there is actually some information about nearly all of them on Wikipedia. — Gwalla | Talk 19:56, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
The list is not a copyright violation. Just the idea that it is derived from multiple sources means that it is not a violation. In fact, however, none of those sources suggested was the actual source of this specific list, which was derived from Magnus's original list of encyclopedia topics--rather than write articles on each angel, they were identified and put into the list as they were encountered. Nor do I think that lists of this sort can be copyrighted. Danny 10:36, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- What Danny said, if this is a copyvio, then so is every article we have - they are all information compiled from various sources -- sannse (talk) 10:41, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Sorry for the mistaken Copyvio-
- On one hand- I felt that a translated list that was researched, translated, and compiled for publication was protected. I asked in #wikipedia, and I was told that it was under copyright. Sorry again. (posted by User:Cameowood)
Lists and databases are a delicate area of copyright law, particularly when reproduced in their entirety. Some kinds of databases are clearly copyrighted against wholesale copying. A comprehensive list that you recreate by hand is clearly not. I don't know where this list falls; the fact that it has been translated, and that there are spelling mistakes in it, makes it tricky. Could you elaborate on the spelling mistakes? +sj + 23:57, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Redirects
I got redirected here when I typed in "mto" (all lowercase) in the search box, instead of getting sent to the Mars Telecommunications Orbiter article I was looking for, or getting sent to the disambiguation page at MTO (all caps). I changed the redirect to go to MTO. I did not add a link to Enochian Angels at the disambiguation page, though. MesoCS 11:40, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] VFD?
Is there a reason not to VFD this whole page? Enochian itself, as a language and a magical system, is obviously notable, but I don't know that any of the angels or the entire list belongs in Wikipedia. DenisMoskowitz 16:06, 2005 September 7 (UTC)
[edit] Verify
How about a book or a website to verify some of this info? --Kerowyn 01:10, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Info Needs Removed
Everything in this article from "A view similar to Buddhist teaching..." to "teeming with beings in varying states of self-consciousness" should be removed. None of this appears in Dee's journals- and is in fact directly contradicted therein. (For instance, there most certainly IS a supreme God in Dee's system.) Most of this appears to come from Schueler's "Theosophical Enochian" system and perhaps some Thelema.
If we want to keep the info, we should add a section for it, and attribute its sources. (For instance, we could have a section on Schueler's theories about the Enochian Angels, one for Thelema, etc.) Kheph777 14:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and removed the non-Enochian material from this article. It still needs a LOT of work, though... Kheph777 04:58, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] strange redirects?=
I stambled into this article after typing 'ussn', is there a good reason for redirecting the to enochian magic, I noticed there's another strange redirect reported, and it seems suspicious. --Zelhar 18:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- They were the names of Enochian Angels listed (see version old version, the list has recently been deleted.) RJFJR (talk) 14:58, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
