[edit] The Twins' Gender
I'm curious as to why this article has the gender of Jasdebi listed as female. The manga has them using very masculine language, such as referring to themselves with "orera". Korekodai 07:46, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
in the manga they state clearly that they are girls Allen Walker 08:45, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I was unaware of any such statements - do you mind giving the particular chapter/page where they say this? I'm simply skeptical because there have been some past mistakes in the scanslations, so I don't think this article should solely rely on scanslations for its information. Korekodai 17:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I went ahead and edited the page in light of this forum discussion on Mangahelpers.com Korekodai 02:23, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree with KoDai. Please don't base your wiki information on thigns gleaned from fan translations, particularly fan translations that have been refuted and fixed by the translator. Samuffin 06:03, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
One last note: In the anime, Debitt has a female seiyuu who plays predominantly male roles, while Jasdero has a male seiyuu. Both still maintain the use of masculine language, thus I feel it's safe to conclude (if it was somehow still ambiguous) that yes, they ARE male. Korekodai 19:09, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Jasdero seiyuu confirmed him as a male, but Debit's case was left open yet with just this. HOWEVER, on the last character poll in Shonen Jump, the most popular D.Gray-man character were shown on a special image: the girls in dress, the guys in tuxedo. Debit was in tuxedo (just in case someone needed something more than the seiyuu). - Access Timeco 03:53, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
in one chapter debit makes a comment that he would rape linalee even though she was a girl. This isn't vandilism and i am 100% serious. D. gray-man chapter 102--Greedisland14 04:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- That was a mistranslation loooooooong rectified. What Debitto said was "Shut up girl or I will rape you!". They are already confirmed as males (finally!), there's no more discussion on this subject XP - Access Timeco 12:16, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Road Kamelot
I edited the general information regarding Road Kamelot in regards to recent events in the manga and elaborated/corrected other points. I'll most likely be adding more information as I gather it. Blasphemychan 08:44, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Superfluous Additions in this Article
I'm curious what others think about some of the Akuma discussed in this article. Is it necessary to include, for example, the "hobo akuma", or the "baseball akuma" here when they ultimately have little effect on the plot, and only make a limited appearance in the manga? Also, it seems redundant to include Leo and Crea/Claire here, and I feel the entirity of their characters would be better discussed in the minor characters article. Korekodai 20:52, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I completely agree; The akuma headers are completely unnecessary and only take away from the informative nature of the article. If some wish to elaborate on the different types of Akuma, perhaps a separate article could be created to accomodate such? Blasphemychan 04:43, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- I was thinking about that the other night. All those Akuma should be moved or not mentioned at unless they somehow made a significant impact on the plot. By that I mean, without them, it might have turned out different. itzjustdrama still new to this (talk) 23:29, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Akuma
In the interest of the organization and length of this article, I believe it would be best to separate the excessive number of Akuma subheaders into their own article.Blasphemychan 00:06, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
so like three different sections? so it would go like this
Akuma
Level 1((link to section))
Level 2((link to section))
Level 3((link to section))
Something like that? Allen Walker 14:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] About Tyki
ok i reread all the chapters of D.gray-man,and Tyki said he killed Kazanna Reed, Chakar Rabon, and Daisya Barry, but i don't rember him saying he killed Tina Spark, Gwen Frere, Sol Galen, it just said they were found dead. So can someone show me where it said that he killed them?Allen Walker 14:55, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- It is mentioned that, like the other three, they had missing internal organs but no external injury. That is Tyki's abillity - 200.209.169.81 16:00, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
actully i have mine copy of Vol.5 right here
it says
Komri:Same as General Yeeger
Reever((spelling?)):Yes,Autopsies revealed thatthree of the exorcists died in a similar manner
Reever:Daisya Barry, and the two from Zokalo unit
Reever:there were no external injries...,... but on of thier organs was removed
Komri:... was it the Noah
end qoute, and in that qoute it only mentions Kazanna Reed, Chakar Rabon, and Daisya Barry Allen Walker 12:17, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Names?
This article gets changed a lot. So much, that I don't even know the names anymore. Skin Boric or Skin Bolic? Jasdebi or Jasdevi? Rhode or Road? I want a confirmed source listing their names, either that list of translations Hoshino had or the names used in the English Manga. I'm also going to try editing these articles soon, too much speculation for an Enyclopedia website. DarkRyan75 19:39, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
There are no official spellings for Skin or the Noah twins for the moment -- as I read the manga in Japanese I don't know if Viz has translated Skin's name one way or another. For the time being I think it's fair enough to leave their names closest to how it's written in Japanese/said in the anime until we have something better to go off of. Korekodai 18:56, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Images?
Where have all the images gone? Did someone upload and not credit or something? *dies a bit inside* Blasphemychan 17:33, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:DGrayMan NoahSong.jpg
Image:DGrayMan NoahSong.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] "Skulls"
that one Skull in chapter 139 said the the Skulld guard the "Egg" and it is clear they work for the Earl,so should they be added or should we wait for more info

[edit] Sakicho/Chomesuke's Gender
What should Chomesuke's gender be refered to as? Choesuke has a male body as an Akuma, but a female body as a human; it was also added that the female skin had an affinity for Lavi. It has a female seiyuu, but somehow I doubt that would be a propor indicator. Should Chomesuke constantly be refered to as he/she? Plus, why was most of Chomesuke's article erased?
[edit] Order of Noah
This is of very little significance, but the order the Noah and such are put in this article bothers me. Why is Lulubell after the 14th Noah? Why is Tyki after the Twins when he was introduced first? Things like that. itzjustdrama still new to this (talk) 23:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speculations on the 14th Noah
I seem to recall that in the anime (since I've only seen that), in Edo, the Millenium Earl said that the names on Tyki's card were related to the Noah that betrayed them, leading to believe that since Cross Marian and Allen Walker are both on the card, they are somewhat related to the Noah. Mana Walker being the main suspect for the 14th Noah, it would mean that Cross and him knew each other in some way. Also, there doesn't seem to be any other characters in Allen's memories, at least so far, that are... well... "dark" and mysterious enough, besides Mana, to be the 14th Noah, since Allen is said to know him too. Which then leads me to wonder... Why was Cross there at that moment, after Allen "killed" the Mana-Akuma? Surely not by mere coincidence. I'd like to know if I'm the only one who thinks Cross knew Mana, knew about Allen, and had been there because Mana asked him to come meet them, maybe already knowing that the Earl was out to kill him. [edit] Lero or Relo?
I realize that in the Japanese language, there isn't much distinguishable difference between "L" and "R", or at least, that's what I heard. But the series of D.Gray-Man articles, both are used. Can we choose one to use and possibly mention the other as an "Often translated as...?" Like the Tease under Tyki? itzjustdrama still new to this (talk) 21:34, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Translations
Okay, I want to address several translation issues.
First, under Combined Akuma, we have Evil Star Gita. However, VIZ translates it as Guitar. VIZ isn't that reliable in translating either.
Second, there's the Jasdebi/Jasdevi and Devit/Devitto/Debitto/other variations translation.
- VIZ translation: David, Jasdev/Jasdevi
- The Noah Family article: Devit and Jasdevi
- Main D.Gray-man article: Devit and Jasdebi
-
- However, that last one should really be Debitto or Jasdevi.
And finally, Should it be Relo or Lero?
Any other translation conflicts or any thoughts?
itzjustdrama still new to this (talk) 04:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- All should be using the official English translations, I.E. Viz's. Irregardless of what people may think should be right or their disagreeing with Viz's choices. What ever is used in Viz's manga releases should be used throughout all the articles. If you could change them all, noting in the edit summary that they are the official Viz translations, it would be helpful for those unfamiliar with the series to know if they should undo other people changing them or not (I wasn't sure which, just noticed people were spelling them all over the place). Collectonian (talk) 04:44, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, that makes sense. David, Jasdevi, Guitar, and Lero. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Itzjustdrama (talk • contribs) 14:04, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Oira?
Do we have a source for him? I don't remember Oira. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Itzjustdrama (talk • contribs) 19:33, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
