[edit] M. Lamport and Gabour

The bit about M. Lamport actually talks about the Gabour family. -idiotoff 07:10, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

You're right, I'll try to fix that up - though I believe Lamport was the Gabour's mother-in-law, or something similar, so it's not entirely wrong, just references the wrong family members :P Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 00:10, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion nomination

I'm nominating this page for deletion on the grounds of failing WP:NOT, namely that Wikipedia is not a bunch of lists or a memorial. Moreover, I challenge the notability of this page; being killed by someone doesn't automatically make you notable. Also, the names are just duplicated from the main Charles Whitman page. • As the archived AfD discussion (linked in the template at the top of this page) shows, this page doe not violate any Wikipedia policy. Lists are certainly allowed on Wikipedia, we have thousands of them, and a list of victims is not the same as a memorial. Therefore, this page has been kept by consensus. Yes, but all that cal about, "She had so much to look forward to, struck down in the prime of life, brutally murdered while aiding the fallen. . ." is completely inappropriate--71.173.125.130 (talk) 10:17, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] David Gunby

If David Gunby is listed as a victim, then anyone injured by Whitman should be listed. It should list those that were killed and those that were wounded, and Gunby should be in the second category. A man dying three decades later should not be place in the company of those that died that day or in the days following. Tithonfury (talk) 22:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I believe it's only because of the coroner's report that he's included, officially he was a victim of Whitman, though I agree with you that this was more likely an attempt to make him a "martyr" after-death or something. As long as the circumstances are clearly explained in this article, I don't object to seeing him listed, it's like Clare Wilson's unborn child. Yeah, after reading more about how victims are officially decided, he does belong here. Tithonfury (talk) 01:04, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFC: Victim Lists

Wikipedia:Victim Lists is an attempt by me to create community consensus on the inappropriateness of lists of victims on Wikipedia. Titanium Dragon (talk) 22:15, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
