Talk:List of Black Cat chapters

[edit] Chapter by chapter?
Is a chapter-by-chapter summary of the black cat manga really necessary? Since the chapters aren't all that long (length is similar to that of other manga chapters), isn't a summary for each a bit of an overkill? Might as well just buy the manga and read it if such in depth summaries are necessary. Also, apart from Volumes 1,2 and 12, the rest are extremely lacking in content, and given that there are 20 volumes in total, this article will be extremely long when (if) completed. I suggest only volume summaries should be put up. Highwind888 (talk) 05:42, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- It is very much overkill. The "in-depth summary" in the lead is a clue here -- per WP:PLOT, summaries must not be in-depth. There's no hard-and-fast rule, but the concensus (based on what has been approved in Featured Articles and Featured Lists, and conversations in WikiProject Anime and Manga) is that about 7-12 sentences per volume is both sufficient and appropriate. That works out to a sentence or two per chapter. I'm about to make a cleanup pass, converting the article to use the new {{Graphic novel list}} template -- starting from the bottom of the article. When I get to the long summaries, I'll compress them down. —Quasirandom (talk) 04:03, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- There -- templating and cleanup done; also, added actual publication information and references. Note that the summary of the first volume is a bit long, but I'm not familiar enough with the story to summarize it more accurately. —Quasirandom (talk) 23:01, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

- Much better! I will revisit the manga and try to put up summaries for the other volumes Highwind888 (talk) 00:30, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
