Clock Tower - Adult Education Centre

I have just come across a photo on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=45014115&size=o of the Clock Tower Adult Education Centre at York Street, Harborne. Was this a Board School? DonBarton 09:06, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Camp Hill Circus Do you think that this building should be removed from the List of Birmingham board schools because as you have written it was never a board school? Incidentally, I was a Birmingham Polytechnic student in this building in the mid-1970s.--DonBarton 18:12, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

The Images of England site claims it as a board school, although I am sceptical. I may move it to a separate paragraph of exceptions. Its first building is of the era and architects of the board schools. Oosoom 20:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Bishop Vesey's Grammar School

Bishop Vesey's Grammar School - Was a boarding school but is now a normal grammar school. I just can't find any sites that support this. The rooms on the higher levels on the floors were the dormitories. Can anyone find any sites which say it was a boarding school? - Erebus555 06:40, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

This article is about schools built in Birmingham as a result of the Elementary Education Act 1870 which established the Birmingham School Board. The schools were all built between 1870 and 1902. It is not about boarding schools. Bishop Vesey's Grammar School was also founded in 1527 and not between 1870 and 1902.--DonBarton 23:13, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] coordinates, microformat

I have added mark-up for the hcard microformat, which necessitated a separate column for the name (I think that looks better, anyway). What about adding a column, to each table, for geographic coordinates? By using the {{coord}} template (to emit a geo microformat), the whole set would then be downloadable, into, say, GPS devices; as well as being readable by our visitors. Yes. Reasonable for this sort of table presentation, since the building of tables is tricky enough, the extra class coding is acceptable, although I haven't got my head around how it is used yet. Go ahead. However, I am not very happy with markup in article body text, ie, prose articles. Anything which discourages other editors from making additions is not a good thing in my opinion. Although there is no direct reference to the school being a board school, it does say on the school website that it was built in 1978 as a consequence of the 1870 Education Act. - Erebus555 (talk) 15:52, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
