[edit] What's With the Leaked Names?

Why do you keep editing the leaked names back? One of those names has been illegally leaked, and I don't recall anything saying that Wikipedia supports illegal activities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.111.116.33 (talk) 02:04, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Guys. What are you doing?

Why are you constantly deleting the 2007 names even after I showed you where they were online?

I'm asking you again. For whom do you work for? To my knowledge, only Lego themself and a website called BZPower are trying to hide the 2007 data. Who do you work for?

Amazon.de has been most reliable in the past with the set names mirroring them upon actual release.

Who is telling you to delete this data?

Who do you work for? It's not for the internet viewers of Wiki. Who do you work for? --PurpleDORK 02:38, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

We don't have to work for anyone to think information is inappropriate; and we don't. I can't speak for anyone else, but here's my problems with the information:
  • It's not in English, which means there's the possibility of mistranslation.
  • It's only one source that has no official connection to Lego, so it cannot be confirmed by anyone.
  • It's not enough. It's just a list of names, there's no explanation of who these guys are and what part they play.
On top of everything else, it's way too early; 2007 won't start for five months, and Greg Farshtey - the guy who writes the Bionicle comics and books - still refuses to discuss anything about 2007 at this point. So let's wait until Lego issues some official press release or something that gives some background to go with the names. Drakhan 03:10, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

I respect that you want to keep things as accurate as possible. What I'm trying to convey is that the source is year after year classicly right about set names. They are based right next to the factory that makes them. Of course the polyp launcher (lol) is in a different language but as far as the Lego-made up names go, there is never any mistranslation. Wiki is about people coming here to get all the data on a subject, if it exists. This does exist. Your page is impressive. I would never dream of doing anything to ruin what you've done. Keep in mind too that now set names are leaked, it will be a matter of weeks before pics begin materializing. I'm sorry I painted a connection between you being a Lego rep or a follower of Greg Farshtey. It's anti-information things like that which disturb me when it appears. Thanks for replying to me and keep up the good work. Peace. --PurpleDORK 12:26, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, I'm still deleting the section again, for the reasons I gave. If you're right that pictures will come soon, then we can wait for them before that info gets posted. And I may not work officially on BZPower's or Lego's behalf, but I also want to respect their wishes. Greg already gives fans tons of advance info (and Lego allows him to do this), and nobody wants to get on their bad sides. Just because information exists doesn't mean we're duty-bound to present it immediately; we can wait a little while until it comes down through official channels. Drakhan 14:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
  • sigh* So what happens if pics show up and this Greg guy still wants you to do his bidding? At what point do you decide to go ahead anyway?

--PurpleDORK 14:49, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Amazon's wrong all the time; we can wait for an official announcement. --InShaneee 22:37, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, InShanee, but not when it comes to this toyline. You don't know what you're talking about. I do. And look, other sites are now acknowledging them too. Who would have thought? >: / --PurpleDORK 04:46, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

I'll admit they had accurate spoilers for the Toa Inika (I don't recall about earier releases), but that highlights another possible problem: those sets were called the "Toa Igniters" at the time but Lego changed it at the last minute. How do we know Lego won't make changes this time? On top of that, the list is two items shorter from what would be expected, which doesn't fill me with confidence as to its accuracy. Drakhan 15:12, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
P.S. I've taken the liberty of replacing the bullet points in the last few posts with indents, just to keep things consistent.

--The set names were correct even if the category description was off. Set names are the issue here. In the other years before the last 2, set names were the same. Not just for Bionicle, either. That is why I know these too are next year's names. Please, if you don't know the subject then don't pretend to. It is insulting to those who've truly followed Bionicle from the start. I've been an avid Lego fan for years and noticed Amazon.de as their exit point for "unofficially" leaking data back when you were likely still in diapers. Bit of an update. The launcher may also mean octopus launcher. Whatever the case, the 2007 season takes places either in or near the sea. See the set names? They are tongue in cheek references to sea creatures. Convinced yet? --PurpleDORK 18:53, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

PurpleDORK, you are fan of Bionicle, and you not remember of six elements? Only element (water) not serve the Bionicle basic formula. My opinion as this toys are new collection of TECNIC from Bionicle, like Bionicle from to Slizer. Antidermis2319 20:10, 19 August 2006 (UTC) P.S.: I agree the opinion of Drakhan and BZPower site.

Before we go on, PurpleDORK, take a look at this "Internet Argument-Losing BINGO" card. So far you've used the "'You're just pushing an agenda'" and "'True fans'" arguments. If you want us to take you seriously, try to keep your arguments from applying to any of the other offenses listed.
And as for "following from the start"; I started collecting the sets while the Toa Mata were still in stores. I'm also in my 20s, which I assume is older than you are. So don't mistake me for some "Teh Toa Ignika are goin to Akua-Nui!1!111!!!" newbie kid; I think I know at least as much about Bionicle as you do.
I'm not even going to discuss the supposed sea connection; whether it's there or not, it doesn't have anything to do with the list's accuracy. Now, the list could very well be accurate, but at this point, we don't know. Bottom line, we can wait for some confirmation before we post it here. Drakhan 21:41, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

--You assume wrong. I am older than you and have been collecting for decades. Greg has now confirmed an image as being a set. I guess you're not going to put it up, but I ask why not? I come to Wiki to learn literally everything I can about a subject without having to stay on "up to the minute" news on 100 different fan sites. I am sorry for coming off strong. It is just that I expected to come here and already find the 2007 list that was floating around. It wasn't, so I added it. Yadda yadda, you know the rest. What is your criteria on the current issue? Greg has confirmed a set pic, the names are released, we can see they shoot projectiles, and according to Greg, each of the first guys are different in configuration. I'm not going to bother editing again for you have the power over this it seems. Yet I would like to know when you consider it worthy of adding. It's the wiki way. If anything turns out false, you can just delete it or change it anyway. We're not discussing thermonuclear launch codes. --PurpleDORK 23:03, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I was just annoyed about your "still in diapers" comment and assumed you were - well, not quite as young as Bionicle's target audience but still a few years closer than I was. I apologize.
As for the set list and confirmation, well, it's getting there; and I might not delete it if it's posted again. Still, I'm not completely comfortable with the scarce amount of information we have. Barring an official release from Lego, I'd like at least a complete list; I've already mentioned how it seems a few items are missing from the Amazon.de list. I'd also like some more sources; if the same list starts showing up on Amazon and ToyWiz and some other sites then the chances of mistakes are pretty slim. Drakhan 01:15, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

--What put me on the wrong foot with you was it looked like you were a part of the censorship campaign of Lego and BZP. On a fan site, someone mentioned they had seen a reference of the 2007 sets on wiki and was censored immediately with "wiki is made by users so there's alot of false information". My perspective on wiki is that it's more accurate than most other sources. Except when corporate entities get their hands in and rewrite negative info how they see fit. And it happens alot unfortunately, making wiki lose that much more credibility. I understand you better now. You just want perfect accuracy. I do have to get a last shot in (lol) and say you can still have what you have and what I wanted by merely adding that it was "tentative and possibly subject to change", thereby exonerating your page of being irresponsibly early. This is a data source, Greg or anyone else be damned. Remember, the data gets out because Lego allows it out. We're not paid by them to hide things or cheat wiki of data. I will stop there, for it sounds like I am still arguing, which I'm not. Yes, I am a motor-mouth. --PurpleDORK 02:25, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Turaga Lhikan

The promotional "Turaga Lhikan" as canon or not? Antidermis2319 19:40, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

I honestly don't know. I just found that there are quite a few more obscure promotional sets out there, so I'm going to change the listing to reflect that. Drakhan 20:25, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Prices

Why are all the prices in Austrailian dollars? Shouldn't we add other county's prices? Emma Hordika (talk) 19:16, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
