- Actually, it is. I was in Beijing this past Winter and it was referred to as 轻轨 on the map legend. --Taoster 23:26, 28 May 2004 (UTC)

- Don't believe with the map editors, you can ask metro professors, the difference between 轻轨 and 地铁 is not if it runs underground. There are mainly two kinds of city-wide railways. 轻轨 and 重轨, the first one, which uses railway less than 50 kilograms per meter. 轻轨 is much cheaper than 重轨 and takes less people than 重轨. Metro in Beijing include line 13 are 重轨. Actually, less and less people call line 13 轻轨 now. We call it 城铁 offically. I'm not sure if you have ever take line 13 train before, the sign of the station shows 地铁 but not 轻轨 even if it is not underground, that's the reason. Yaohua2000 19:47, 29 May 2004 (UTC)
I have never heard anyone to refer to line 13 as chéngtiě 城铁, the most common expression in Beijing still seems to be qīngguǐ 轻轨. — 210.72.20.249 06:51, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Loop line is the old name, the line has changed its name to line 2 offically in 2001 (or 2002?). Yaohua2000 19:51, 29 May 2004 (UTC)
