Talk:List of Arthur episodes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I moved Arthur's New Friend and Arthur's Haloween Special backed into the Arthur specials category, as I feel that they do not belong in the Other specials featuring Arthur category (my understanding is that the Other specials featuring Arthur category is for other shows that guest-starred Arthur, not unclassified specials. Feel free to discuss.RAM 16:38, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I can live with that GooTuM 00:17, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 11th Season confirmed
At the Marc Brown Studios website, Season 11 has been confirmed and is in production. The IMDb gives away two 2007 episodes here. Janet6 21:52, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Please read my edit summary for my last edit to the article. That will give you every detail as to why I removed the section of the page. Feel free to readd it if anything changes.Marcus2 15:57, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Episode notability
Many or all of the existing individual episode pages for this series fail notability guidelines, including the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. Might I suggest these articles are improved with real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. Trivia, quotes and overly long plot summaries should be removed. You might consider merging any notable information onto the list of episodes or season pages. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected, merged or deleted. If you want any help or further information, then come to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. Thanks. Gwinva 13:34, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ArthurTV Guide.jpg
Image:ArthurTV Guide.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] This page needs help. Badly.
Sorry, but it's true. 1. Nearly every episode from 1-20 onward is a copyright violation (and I have reported it as such--I don't want the abuse I'll get for blanking it myself, which is the correct thing to do, but I'm more than happy to let an admin take care of it.) 2. The "Goofs" section is a)unnecessary; b)full of things that aren't even goofs; c)totally against WP guidelines. There are other problems too--major cleanup/copyediting is needed, for one--but these are the two biggest issues. I will do what I can. Gladys J Cortez 22:46, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I beleive I have removed all the copyvio per Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2008 April 23/Articles. If you find more you can remove it, when doing so include the source in the edit summary with a note as I did. Jeepday (talk) 21:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- I plan on reworking most, if not all of this list/article into a different table here, which I will start on immediately. I'm sure I can rework every episode summary by memory (up to Season 8, at least, and Season 11), and hopefully none would coincide with copyright problems. I'm supposing I should check against http://pbskids.org/arthur/parentsteachers/schedule/ep_desc1_3.html, but that should be no problem. And I'll remove that Goofs section if you don't object to removing it yourself. --Squids'and'Chips 23:33, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

- I've removed the goofs section. Most of them have to do with how things are different in different episodes. This is a cartoon where the characters don't seem to age so there is no all-encompassing linear continuity according to the way the events occur by the episode number. In fact, the "goof" section somewhat contradicts itself: "The episode Francine's Bad Hair Day shows them in school in the first episode and they're in third grade but in the second episode, Arthur and the Real Mr. Ratburn it shows their first day of grade 3."
- That invalidates several of the goofs. Additionally, if there was an all-encompassing linear continuity, the inter-episode goofs (i.e. In such-and-such episode this was broken/lost/not there/etc., but in a later episode, it was not.) would not be goofs. Then, there is the fact that things are added for plot purposes. None of them are particularly notable. This one is a plausible goof:
- In Arthur Sells Out, Arthur sells Larry the Lemon but in an earlier episode (Desperatley Seeking Stanley), D.W. sells Larry the Lemon at a garage sale.
- but a minor plot point. --Squids'and'Chips 20:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] rework this part?
[edit] Season 2: 1997-1998
# | Airdate | Title | Guest Star/Plot |
---|---|---|---|
31/2-1 | September 22, 1997 | Arthur Meets Mr. Rogers/Draw! | Fred Rogers - Mister Rogers is staying at Arthur's house! That's the bad news. The good news is that nobody knows about it. Yet. I mean, Mister Rogers is a nice guy and all, and he really understands kids, and he's a lot of fun, but... his show is for babies! The trouble starts when Fern draws a not-too-flattering cartoon of Francine. (Who sort of deserved it; after all, she did call Fern a mouse). This mouse really roars, and soon everyone is drawing nasty cartoons of Francine. Poor Francine pretends not to care, but it's not much fun being a punch line. |
The plot defo needs to be reworked Pathfinder2006 (talk) 11:12, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
