[edit] Article scope?

How does this compare to List of Macintosh software? Is this only a list of apps written _by_ Apple? Peter S. 20:29, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

List of Apple software seems to be arranged by name while List of Macintosh software is arranged by category. Both could be useful in finding software so maybe in the intro to each they should mention something like “if you want it arranged by type/name view List of Macintosh software/List of Apple software”. If you wanted to merge the two Macintosh has more links to it then Apple does.--E-Bod 05:45, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

It looks really superfluous to me to have two lists. Let's merge them into List of Macintosh software, sorted by category, do you agree? What do we do with all those small icons? I kinda like them, but they also add clutter... Peter S. 10:11, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

I’m Not sure if the articles should be merged but it’s worth a discussion. I already added the Merge template to spark discussion and so people viewing ether page know there is a similar page. This tag should also mark the article out and bring in people to discuss it. I am new to Wikpidia so don’t let me talk you into it. I don’t object to Merging them. As far as the Icons go I Like them and maybe we should find ones for the rest. I am moving the Discussion to Talk:List of Macintosh software because that is were the merge tag links the discussion to.--E-Bod 21:38, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Icons don't match

In the recent change http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Apple_software&diff=42958970&oldid=42958300 not all the original pre OS X icons look like OS X. They are larger and fallow the style before OSX. Plus are to the right and stand out too much. They just don't mach. They also don’t stack well. 17:34, 9 March 2006 Yskyflyer E-bod

I Changed pre OS X icons and changed “right” to “16px”. They now blend in with the post OSX icons but are still noticeable if you look at the icon because of the style. It would be nice if there was another way to have the pre OSX icons stand out without having larger staggered icons on the right side of the page. --E-Bod 00:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you added Apple File Security with it's icon to the list History but there is no file for the icon. Were you planning on adding the image latter? Also the Mac OS 9 and earlier icons had look out of place so I changed all of them to from Although it may make those OS9 and earlier icons smaller and harder to see and not stand out, I feel it might look nicer having less things pop out. I had posted it on the discussion board and latter changed them all but I wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something before I revert an edit.--E-Bod 21:18, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't have access to Adobe ImageReady CS on the weekends to optimize the icons. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:31, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

In the edit history (cur) (last) 18:45, 20 March 2006 CyberSkull (moved 32px images to the right, they don't scale well to 16px as the 128px icons)

Is There a way so that the Images Can stack nicely. On List_of_Apple_software#M The images don't (Stack nicely).

Also It gets confusing Which image goes to Which program. On the Left would solve that but then space the images weirdly. If you make the images the same size they don't compress properly. What to do? --E-Bod 00:21, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
