A thread on rabble.ca, variously citing the National Post and Frank Magazine, reports as of December 2004 that MacKay and Merrithew broke up, and speculatively links MacKay to Belinda Stronach. Were they married? Googles for +"Peter MacKay" +Merrithew +wedding and +"Peter MacKay" +Merrithew +marriage yield nothing suggesting they were anything more than unmarried partners, despite the huge society-page interest of their hypothetical wedding.
