List of tallest buildings in Shanghai

This list of tallest buildings in Shanghai ranks skyscrapers in Shanghai, China by height. The tallest skyscraper in Shanghai, although still under construction, is the Shanghai World Financial Center, which is topped out at 492 m (1,610 ft), and is the tallest building in China and the third tallest in the world, including unfinished ones.[1][2] The tallest completed structure in Shanghai is the Oriental Pearl Tower, at 468 m (1,540 ft), while the tallest completed skyscraper is the Jin Mao Tower, which stands 421 m (1,380 ft) tall.[3][4]

As of May 2008, there are 947 completed high-rise buildings in Shanghai, and 210 buildings either under construction, approved for construction, or proposed for construction, of which six are over 300 m (980 ft) high.[5] The tallest proposed building is the Shanghai Center, which has had a height approval at 580 m (1,900 ft), and would become the tallest building in Shanghai when completed.[6]
