List of tallest buildings in Leeds

Leeds is one of the United Kingdom's fastest growing cities.[1] This growth is reflected in the increasingly prominent skyline of the city. Leeds currently has four hundred-metre buildings either existing or under construction, with another two planned for construction in the near future.
As is the case with many English cities, much of Leeds's skyline comprises 1960s residential tower blocks. However, current development trends include upmarket apartments and expanding office space to facilitate economic growth.
Currently, the tallest building in Leeds is Bridgewater Place at 110 m, but this title will be short-lived, as construction has begun on Lumiere, a twin-tower complex which will become Western Europe's tallest residential skyscraper at 171m and 112m. [2] Other notable future high-rise buildings include Criterion Place, another twin-tower complex (180 m and 118 m), and the soon-to-be-finished Plaza at 103 m.
The oldest building on the list is Leeds Town Hall, constructed in 1858. The newest is Bridgewater Place, built in 2007.

- Briggate Tower - 94 m (circa 1938, cancelled due to World War Two, site now occupied by Marks and Spencer)[1]
- EMI Westgate Tower - 36 storeys (circa 1970, around 120-140 metres in height, cancelled for excessive height, site now occupied by 1980s Westgate Point development) [2]
- Triple Five Leeds Development - Height unknown (circa 1989, planned complex in Holbeck including shopping, residential and offices which was to include a number of high rise buildings of unspecified height, cancelled) [3]
