Barque Glenbervie United Kingdom wrecked at Lowland Point laden with 600 barrels of whisky, 400 barrels of brandy and barrels of rum.[1]

- SS Camorta United Kingdom sank in the Irrawaddy Delta with the loss of all 737 passengers and crew.

- SS Thomas Wilson United States sank in Duluth harbour after a collision with the SS George Hadley. Nine crew killed.

- SS Elingamite Australia sank near the Three Kings Islands, New Zealand with the loss of 45 passengers and crew.
