  • Fyta is village situated on the northern side of chios atop the Pilineo mountain. Famous for drawing crowds from across the island for its Parayiri (Village dance festival). Veiwable from the road as you pass through Fyta is a 16th century castle fort made of stone which was recently restored by local inhabitants. As you pass down the northern end of the road that runs through Fyta you can take a slight left and head down a side dirt mountain road and arrive upon "Angelo". A 300 year old tree that burnt in one of Fyta's many devastating fires. After the tree burned it split down the middle and water began to flow through the center of it. Many people visit the Angelo to drink the water and see the phenomenon.
