[edit] Other stations

MediaCorp Radio operates one shortwave radio station, Radio Singapore International (RSI) in English [1], Mandarin [2], Malay [3] and Indonesian. RSI will end transmission on 31 July 2008.

It also operates SmartRadio [4], a radio service using digital audio broadcasting technology which simulcast eight FM stations, namely Class 95FM, Gold 90.5FM, 987FM, Y.E.S. 93.3FM, Love 97.2FM, Lush 99.5FM, Symphony 92.4FM, and 938LIVE. It also broadcasts six digital-only stations, namely Cruise, Club Play, JK-Pop, Chinese Evergreens, Planet Bollywood and Bloomberg.

Currently, there is no medium-wave (MW) radio station in Singapore. The country phased out MW broadcasting in the early 1990s. Foreign stations with strong signals can be found on the AM dial from dusk to dawn daily.

Among them are Voice of Vietnam English-language service on 1242 kHz and Voice of America on 1575 kHz, both of which can be heard in Singapore at certain times in the evenings only.
