This article is about shows that have aired on MTV in the United States. For MTV's sister channel, MTV2, see List of programs broadcast by MTV2. For all of MTV's international channels, see List of MTV channels.
MTV, the first and most popular music television channel in the U.S., has produced many television shows since its 1981 founding. This is a list of MTV shows that have made the channel notable. Television shows are listed by the first letter in the title of the film (not including the words "a", "an", or "the").
The flagship music video show of MTV since 1998 has been Total Request Live. MTV's Video Music Awards, which began in 1984, are considered the flagship award ceremony of the channel. Additionally, The Real World, which premiered in 1992, is considered the channel's flagship reality show.
Shows that are still being produced are in bold.
This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it.
