List of political party symbols in India

The following is a partial list of political party symbols in India as of the 2004 general elections in India. Assignment of election symbols are made and periodically updated by India's Election Commission.
The commission publishes such a list for national and state parties. "State" includes some parties which have a regional presence. It also publishes the list of free symbols available for assignment and the list of "registered unrecognized" parties, which are not assigned an election symbol.
