List of names of Thor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thor (Old Norse: Þórr) is referred to by many names in Old Norse poetry.

In the Nafnaþulur collection there is a strophe which contains a list of Thor's names.

Þórr heitir Atli
ok Ásabragr,
sá es Ennilangr
ok Eindriði,
Björn, Hlórriði
ok Harðvéorr,
Vingþórr, Sönnungr,
Véoðr ok Rymr. - [1]

Some of those names are well attested in Eddaic poetry and skaldic poetry. For example Þrymskviða contains both Vingþórr and Hlórriði. Others do not appear to occur outside of Nafnaþulur.
