This page is for minor and supplementary characters in the Power Rangers universe, appearing in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, its sequels and related media. Characters listed here are either incidental characters, or characters that aid the Power Rangers team but are not Rangers themselves.
Characters are listed alphabetically according to the series (or movie) in which they first appeared.
[edit] Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
[edit] Dulcea
Dulcea was a character from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. She is the master warrior of Phaedos and at first distrusted the Power Rangers. After gaining her trust, they follow her to the ancient ruins of the Ninjetti Temple, where she gives them their new powers. As such, Dulcea takes the place of Ninjor, who gave the Rangers those powers in the series.
Dulcea was played by Gabrielle Fitzpatrick; Mariska Hargitay was originally chosen to play Dulcea, but left production during filming. Catherine Sutherland auditioned for the role, but was turned down.
According to an earlier version of the script, Dulcea was a member of the "Order of Meledon" alongside Zordon. She was also the only surviving descendant of the Nathadians, a race of people who brought the Great Power to Phaedos from another time and another dimension. She also had a pet anteater-like creature named Snoggle who can speak in an alien language. At the end of her last scene in the movie, after giving the rangers their new ninja powers, Dulcea transforms into a barn owl, then flies away.
Dulcea cannot leave a specific area of Phaedos or she will begin to age rapidly.
[edit] Tommy Oliver (clone)
Tommy Oliver (portrayed by Jason David Frank) is an exact clone of Tommy Oliver that was created and put under a spell by the Wizard of Deception to serve as the Evil Green Ranger for Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa.
How Zedd repowered the Green Power Coin, is not known for certain. Some believe that, after Tommy lost the Green Ranger powers, Zedd recharged the original Dragon Power Coin to its full power. Others think that a duplicate Dragon Coin was produced. At any rate, Lord Zedd had intended to restore Tommy as the Evil Green Ranger and make him heir to his throne, as revealed in White Light Part I; but that plan was shelved when Zordon made Tommy the White Ranger. But after Rita returned and was married to Zedd, she convinced him to summon the Wizard of Deception to recreate her Evil Green Ranger.
In a battle with some Putties, Tommy was knocked unconscious, and the Wizard cut a lock from his hair and turned him into an evil clone, endued with the Green Ranger powers. The clone tricked the other Rangers into meeting him in an isolated spot, where the Wizard sent them back to colonial Angel Grove. He then confronted Tommy, who was suffering a headache following his battle with the Putties. The two Rangers fought each other to a draw until the Wizard intervened, zapping Tommy with his wand, causing him to demorph and lie in a coma. The Green Ranger then went to the Command Center to threaten Zordon, and then unleashed the Dragonzord on Angel Grove.
When Tommy was revived, he summoned his White Tigerzord to defend the city, but Dragonzord, energized by the Wizard's evil, soundly beat him. Tommy then stole the Wizard's wand, went back to rescue the other Rangers, and brought them back to summon the Thunder Megazord and deal with the Dragonzord. He then destroyed the Wizard, breaking the spell on the Green Ranger, whom he now called Tom.
Tom was sick with remorse, but Tommy convinced him that he could still do good. Tom broke the spell on Dragonzord and sent him back to the sea. The White and Green Rangers went back in time to colonial Angel Grove to destroy the Rat Monsters the Wizard had created to torture the other Rangers. Afterwards, Tom decided to stay in colonial Angel Grove so he could do some good things for the citizens. He kept the Dragon Power Coin with him to keep it out of evil hands in the modern day.
[edit] Wild West Rangers
The Wild West Rangers are the Old West ancestors of the original Power Rangers, and temporarily obtain Ranger Powers when Kimberly Hart is transported to their time. As Rangers, the Wild West Rangers have outfits identical to those of their descendants, save for the addition of wild-west style fringe on their necks, leggings and gloves.
The known Wild West Rangers were as follows:
- Rocko DeSantos, Red Wild West Ranger (Steve Cardenas)
- Abraham Park, Black Wild West Ranger (Johnny Yong Bosch)
- Miss Alicia, Yellow Wild West Ranger (Karan Ashley)
- William, Blue Wild West Ranger (David Yost)
- White Stranger, (although did not receive any power coin) (Jason David Frank)
- Kimberly Hart (from the 20th Century) served as the team's Pink Ranger.
Kimberly had an Old West ancestor named Fuschia O'Hara (name uses the word "fuchsia" to parody the character of Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind), also played by Amy Jo Johnson. However, she only appears at the end of the episode (after Kimberly goes back to the present time) and thus does not receive the Pink Power. She also appeared to be rather wealthy and had a crush on the White Stranger. It is unknown whether or not Fuschia became the Pink Wild West Ranger.
[edit] Ninjor
[edit] Alpha 4
Alpha 4 was a fictional robot in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. He was the predecessor to Alpha 5 and has the exact same voice and body design with the exception that the yellow lights on his chestplate on either side of the lightning bolt was slightly father apart. He only made two appearances. In Wild West Rangers-Part II, he was in the Command Center in 1880 when Kimberly Hart, who was transported to that year via a time hole, teleported to the Command Center. Alpha was alarmed until Kimberly said she was a Power Ranger from the future and needed help from Zordon. When Alpha Five was built, it was presumed Alpha Four was retired and unused. In Hogday Afternoon-Part I, Alpha Four's torso and head can be seen deactivated in a box labeled "Command Center" as Rito Revolto and Goldar wander around the basement, presumably to be recycled. When time was restored, a black box with "Alpha Four" in red letters can be seen in the basement of the Command Center. It is unknown how that box was related to Alpha Four.
[edit] Power Rangers: Zeo
[edit] Auric the Conqueror
Auric the Conqueror is an ancient tiki that had been dormant on the tropical Mysterio Island for countless years. He was discovered by Tanya Sloan's parents after an expedition which lasted many years. "The lost tiki of Auric", as he was called in Africa, was up until that time a myth only.
Auric lives to protect the weak and to fight evil though he always prefers to try and talk through a situation before he uses violence. Unfortunately Auric can be cowardly and if frightened he will retreat into his Tiki form like a turtle retreats into its shell. Auric can blow tremendous gusts of wind from his mouth and can heal at a very fast rate.
Auric has known of Zordon for some time and believes all who fight for good know of Zordon. This is a recurring theme throughout the first few Power Rangers series.
Auric is usually found as a small statuette of a head with a key hole on its face. With the golden key of Auric, the bearer can unlock Auric causing him to expand to his full size of over 40 stories tall or to a more humanoid size of roughly 8 feet tall. Auric has a slashing long broad sword which he uses in battle and also as a finishing attack against villains.
Tanya chose Jason Lee Scott, the current Gold Ranger, to be the keeper of Auric. Presumably he either passed this duty on to Trey of Triforia when he returned his Gold Powers or he still carries the key.
Auric disappeared after being banished by a monster controlling the Zeo Megazord. He has not been seen since, and his current whereabouts are unknown. He was voiced by Derek Stephen Prince.
[edit] Cestria
Cestria is an Aquitian that appeared as a final (and permanent) love interest for Billy Cranston. She was first encountered when Billy began to suffer from accelerated aging, during which time Billy travelled to Aquitar to receive treatment. When he was cured, he chose to remain on Aquitar with Cestria rather than return home to Earth. This pairing is somewhat humorous given the fact that Billy once suffered from ichthyophobia (fear of fish).
Some believe that she may be the sister of the Blue Aquitian Ranger, Cestro. Others disagree, as Karim Prince (the actor who plays Cestro) is African-American and the actress that plays Cestria is white. It remains unknown whether Aquitian genetics would thus render a brother-sister relationship impossible or unlikely, or whether it would have no effect at all.
Some also speculate that since her teleportation wake was pink, that she would have been designated the Pink Aquitian Ranger had such a power was known to exist.
[edit] Power Rangers: Turbo
[edit] Blue Senturion
The Blue Senturion (voiced by David Walsh) robots are the most reliable form of robotic law enforcement in eight galaxies. One came to Earth from the future to deliver the "Millennium Message" to the Power Rangers. However, Divatox gets to him first, and obtains the message, which foretells the coming of the United Alliance of Evil from Power Rangers: In Space. She then wipes his memory, so the Rangers cannot learn of the message. Afterwards, the Blue Senturion stays on Earth to aid the Rangers, almost like a sixth Ranger.
The Blue Senturion has his own Zord, the Robo Racer. The Senturion has been turned evil on two occasions; once by a wish made by Divatox with a magic coin and once by wearing a bewitched shirt Divatox had been circulating. His weapons include the Senturion Synergizer, which has a sword and blaster mode, and he also has the Senturion Cycle.
At the end of the Turbo season, the Blue Senturion departs Earth to aid Zordon on Eltar. He later appears in the Countdown to Destruction duology, where he and the Phantom Ranger defend the Phantom Ranger's homeworld. It is unknown what happens to the Blue Senturion afterwards.
In Power Rangers S.P.D., Jack Landors and Sky Tate are playing a fighting game, Jack is the Blue Senturion and Sky is Cyclopter, a monster for Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
[edit] Dimitria
Dimitria serves as mentor to the Rangers after Zordon departs for Eltar. She also brings Alpha 6 with her, and comes from the planet Inquiris. Dimitria wore a white robe and also half of a white face shroud. Initially, Dimitria spoke in questions constantly, until the episode Passing the Torch, after which she spoke normally.
She later departs Earth with the Blue Senturion to help Zordon on Eltar, but is never seen or referred to again, leaving what eventually became of her in question.
Dimitria is likely the twin sister of Divatox, thus making her sister to General Havoc and another unreaveled sibling (Elgar's parent), and aunt to Elgar. This is never confirmed, but was made almost certain when Zordon's energy wave from Countdown to Destruction caused Divatox to shed her evil powers, and became identical to Dimitria, minus the face shroud (it had been revealed that Dimitria had a twin sister, but that she had disappeared).
The role of Dimitria was played by Carol Hoyt, the same actress who played Divatox in the first half of the Power Rangers: Turbo season (Divatox was played by Hilary Shepard Turner in the second half of the season).
[edit] Alpha 6
It has been suggested that Alpha 6 be merged into this article or section. (Discuss) |
[edit] Power Rangers: In Space
[edit] Adelle Ferguson
Adelle Ferguson (Aloma Wright) serves as the replacement figure for the characters Ernie and Jerome Stone from previous seasons, serving as the proprietor of the restaurant that the Rangers choose as their public meeting place, the Surf Spot.
[edit] Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy
[edit] Commander Stanton
Commander Stanton (Tom Whyte) is the commander of Terra Venture, a space station set out from Earth to found a new colony for human habitation. While he is obviously bound by duty (he decides not to halt the voyage to return a young stowaway in the episode Homesick), he still finds time for his only family, his daughter (who first appears in The Blue Crush), and eventually learns to make the ultimate sacrifice as he ditches an ailing Terra Venture to save its people (in the season finale Journey's End).
Trivia note: the first episode and the season finale share a similar scene, of Commander Stanton looking over Mike Corbett's shoulder as he in turn looks out a porthole - looking down at Earth in the first episode, and their final destination in the season finale.
[edit] Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue
[edit] Captain Mitchell
Captain William "Bill" Mitchell (Ron Roggé) is the captain of the Lightspeed Aquabase, and father of Dana and Ryan Mitchell. Capt. Mitchell was responsible for gathering the Rangers, chosen for their special abilities. Ryan had recently reappeared, and Mitchell successfully convinced him to leave Diabolico's side and join him as the Titanium Ranger. He had also saved Carter from a fire.
[edit] Angela Fairweather
Ms. Angela Fairweather (Monica Louwerens) is a Ranger scientist at Lightspeed. Before Kat Manx, Ms. Fairweather developed Zords, weaponry, and vehicles for the Rangers. She is the sister of Clark Fairweather, who is also a Ranger expert.
Throughout the series, Joel Rawlings flirts with Mrs. Fairweather. In the final episode, she finally consents to go on a date with him. Half a season later, in the "Time for Lightspeed" team-up, the two are seen heading off to their honeymoon.
[edit] Marina
Marina is a lovely mermaid who was romantically interested in Chad Lee. She was used by Vypra in a botched plan against Chad, and later asked for Chad's help in recovering her father's trident.
She is played by actress Kamera Walton, who also played the human form/voice of Psycho Yellow in Power Rangers in Space.
[edit] Power Rangers: Wild Force
[edit] Princess Shayla
Princess Shayla is the Princess of the Animarium, a floating landmass that is the last remnant of the lost world of Animaria. After the defeats of Animus and Master Org, she fell asleep for centuries. However, she was reawakened along with the Org spirits by the pollution caused by humans. Shayla serves as the advisor to the Rangers, as well as filling the role of damsel in distress. However, she can and will defend herself if absolutely necessary. This is proven in the episode The Master's Herald. She has a romantic relationship with her former protector, Merrick Baliton, but he refuses to let his feelings get in the way of his duty. After Master Org was destroyed, Shayla took back the Wild Force Powers and went back into the sky, until the WildZords are needed to protect the earth once more.
Played by actress Ann Marie Crouch.
[edit] Alpha 7
Alpha 7 was the fourth Alpha robot in Power Rangers. He only appeared once, in Forever Red, where he is seen helping Tommy Oliver and Andros on the Astro Megaship, Mark 2. He has Alpha 5's voice and demeanor, but his appearance is made up of pieces of both Alpha 6, and Alpha 5.
Alpha 7 was voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz, who also voiced Alpha 5, but for only one line.
[edit] Power Rangers: Ninja Storm
[edit] Sensei Kanoi Watanabe
Sensei Kanoi Watanabe (Grant McFarland) is the mentor of the Wind Rangers and father to Cameron Watanabe. Kanoi was originally an air ninja, and is also the brother of Lothor. When Lothor attacked the Wind Academy, he used his magic to turn Kanoi into a guinea pig, albeit with the ability to speak and bipedal movement. (This is a parody of Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
Kanoi sensed potential in the three students who became the Wind Rangers. He also sensed it in his son Cameron (Cam), but had promised his wife that he would not train Cam in the ways of the Ninja. So, instead, Cam learned to become a samurai, and met his father in the past before obtaining the Samurai Cyclone Morpher.
In a later episode, Cam created a machine that should have returned his father to a human, but instead he swapped bodies with both Shane and Dustin, before finally returning to his trapped hamster body. It reveals he's proficient in Earth Style, despite beginning his ninja training as an Air Style Ninja.
Kanoi was eventually restored to human form, and returned to the Wind Academy. He was later captured and impersonated by a vengeful Lothor, who tricked the Wind Rangers and turned them into his servants. Kanoi later escaped with the help of his nieces Marah and Kapri, and helped Cam and the Thunder Rangers recover their powers from the Abyss of Evil. He then worked together with Hayley to advise the Rangers in their team-up battle.
[edit] Kyle, Eric and Tally
A trio of teens resembling Shane, Dustin and Tori, respectively. They first appeared to backup Cam and Hunter while fighting a Kelzak army, and though their help came in handy, Cam warned them to not get in their way. They weren't seen again until the Wind Ninja Academy opened again, enrolling as ninja apprentices.
Eric was the twin brother of Conner McKnight, the Red Dino Ranger.
Kyle and Tally's whereabouts are unknown. According to Conner in the episode Legacy of Power, Eric left the Academy and didn't graduate.
[edit] Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
[edit] Hayley
Hayley is a manager of Cyberspace Cafe, and a technical advisor to the Rangers. She has built a lot of equipment for the Rangers.
She is portrayed by Ismay Johnston.
[edit] Cassidy Cornell
Cassidy Agnes Cornell is the news reporter of Reefside. She is also assisted by Devin.
She seeks to reveal the identities of the Power Rangers, but never gets success. She started her quest to reveal their identities after they first appeared in Reefside. She and Devin finally discovered the Rangers identities in the finale by taping a video tape of the Rangers morphing and fighting in their last battle. When she and Devin were done with the tape, she decided not to show the tape to the people because "she couldn't ruin their lives just to make hers better" and gave the tape to the Rangers instead.
She is portrayed by Katrina Devine.
[edit] Devin Del Valle
Devin Del Valle is Cassidys sidekick in discovering the Rangers identities. He is also Cassidys cameraman.
While he tied himself to the Tree of Life. Zeltrax returned after his absence. Zeltrax told him to tell the Power Rangers "Zeltrax has returned!". He told Cassidy, and unintentionally revealed it to the Rangers when they were listening in.
He is willing to do Cassidy's bidding. He has also wanted Cassidy to survive without him on one occasion. He also seeks to reveal the Rangers' identities, but with no success. In the finale, he finally discovered the Rangers' identities with Cassidy.
He is portrayed by Tom Hern.
[edit] Principal Randall
Principal Randall was the pretend civilian identity of Elsa, and is Principal of Reefside High School.
Elsa often uses this identity to cause problems for the Rangers, such as confiscating the Ruby Dragon card from Ethan to create a powerful monster.
Towards the end of the series, her identity was discovered by Tommy Oliver, and was also revealed to the entire school.
She is portrayed by Miriama Smith.
