- Princess Belle-Etoile, a French fairy tale written by Madame d'Aulnoy.
- Cinderella is the main character of the eponymous story. While Cinderella does not start out as a princess in the story, she ends up marrying the Prince and becomes a princess at the end.
- The Frog Princess is a character in various Russian and Italian fairy tales.
- Sleeping Beauty is the nickname for the princess in the eponymous story, though her real name varies in different incarnations of the tale.
- Snow White is the main character of the eponymous story.
- The unnamed princess from The Princess and the Pea, popularized by Hans Christian Andersen in 1835.
