List of console game franchises
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of console video game franchises organized by the generations in which they first appeared. Franchises listed as "revivals" are those that have been resurrected with a new sequel after one or more generation's absence. Franchises listed as "internationalizations" are those that were introduced to foreign markets after being marketed exclusively in their country of origin for one or more generations. Remakes do not qualify for listing as "revival."

¹ Fire Emblem debuted on the Famicom in Japan during the third generation era. It was introduced to international markets on the Game Boy Advance during the sixth generation era. That was partly influenced by the success of Marth and Roy as playable characters in the Nintendo GameCube game Super Smash Bros. Melee.
² Nintendo Wars debuted on the Famicom in Japan as Famicom Wars during the third generation era. It was introduced to international markets on the Game Boy Advance during the sixth generation era, where it was marketed as Advance Wars. Interestingly, Advance Wars was not released in Japan until the Game Boy Wars Advance 1+2 compilation, due to the September 11, 2001 attacks.
