Team Status: B class

Kogarasumaru (小烏丸 Kogarasumaru?) is a team created by Itsuki Minami to rise to the top of the Trophaeum Tower, they are central to the plot of Air Gear.

[edit] The Noyamano Family/Sleeping Forest

Team Status: A Class

Main article: Sleeping Forest

Sleeping Forest (眠りの森 Nemuri no Mori?) was originally created by Sora Takeuchi in order to unify the eight Kings and prepare for the appearance of the Sky King. The present Sleeping Forest was created by Kilik to prevent storm riders from conquering the Trophaeum Tower and obtaining the Sky Regalia. Currently, the team is under command of Ringo.

Team status: D Class - Disbanded

Behemoth (ベヒーモス Behīmosu?) was an extremely large AT team. Behemoth was defeated in a parts war by Kogarasumaru. At that time the leader (Akira Udō) was taken into custody by the Wind G-Men.

Team Status: A-Class

Genesis (創世神?) is a team of skilled Storm Riders (including four kings), headed by Simca, to conquer the Trophaeum Tower. Ikki was offered the leadership of Genesis. It is currently controlled by the Takeuchi brothers.

Team Status: NA; Neutral

The Tool Toul To (道具屋 Tooru Tōru To) was originally created to assist the kings with their Regalia. They are a completely neutral group and will assist any king regardless of which side they are on. Each king is assigned a tuner which is their personal mechanic.

Team Status: F Class

The first to challenge Ikki's team. The Sabel Tigers occupied the area of the school after the fall of the Night Kings (夜王 Yaou?). As the Kogarasumaru was in the same place, they soon started a F Class Parts War. After losing to Kogarasumaru, the riders formed a new team called Pink Panthers.

Leader: Natsumi Iriya

Voiced by: Mayu Asada (Japanese), Alice Fulks (English)

Natsumi Iriya, a.k.a. "The Brown Bloody Sword," is the leader of this team. Her special technique is "Moon Walker", which allows her to ride backwards. She thought that she could get an easy win on Ikki because of her technique in addition to that no men would attack a woman from the front. However, Ikki gained a simple victory over her. She got out of the penalty due to the girls, while the rest of the team walked home naked. She is shown to have a little crush on Ikki. Oh! Great's notes at the end of volume 5 state that she is half Japanese. She reappears during Spitfire's last message with her new team called Pink Panthers.

[edit] Rez-Boa-Dogs

Team Status: Disbanded (Were B Class)

Though the Sabel Tigers were the first to "officially" be challenged by Ikki, the Rez-Boa-Dogs were the first team Ikki defeated (in the anime the Skull Saders skipped out, counting the match as nullified, but they were defeated by Ikki and Sleeping Forest on the manga). It should be noted that in the English version of Air Gear Volume 2, in the extras the name is romanized as Reservoir Dogs.

Leader: Inuyama

Voiced by: Kazunari Tanaka (Japanese), John Gremillion (English)

The leader of the Rez-Boa Dogs. When he heard that number 22 and 19 (members of the team) were defeated, he promptly smashed his helmet into theirs. He is friends with Gonzō and wears a helmet shaped in like the head of a Doberman dog. This helmet both serve has his badge of office and a hammer (bowing the "nose" of the helmet would hit the target directly in front of Inuyama while shouting "Do Kon"). Inuyama though may first come off as a generic evil leader but soon his soft side shows. He cares for his team members as well as for the opponent. He is also very honorable, saving Ikki's life after Ikki beats him due to respect. However, despite his good heart, he absolutely despises Simca. He also bears an uncanny resemblance to Ryu of Shaman King in both height and hairstyle. He also resembles Ban Dicoot in Barou teams in The Law of Ueki


[edit] Skull Saders

Team Status: Disbanded (Were C Class)

The first storm rider team introduced in the series and the first team Ikki defeated "unofficially". The Skull Saders like to bring their entire team to matches so that they can greatly outnumber their opponents. None of the Skull Saders like to fight fair, employing lots of homemade weapons to beat their opponents into submission.

Leader: Magaki

Voiced by: Nobuyuki Hiyama (Japanese), Jason Douglas (English)

The leader of the Skull Saders, he has a bald head with a skull-shaped tattoo. He and his team were defeated in a battle against Ikki and Sleeping Forest. In the anime, he was defeated by Ikki first and that was what forced the Skull Saders to disband. He later made a reappearance in Chapter 28 seeking revenge against Ikki, where he was quickly defeated by Agito. Magaki prefers to race on an old wall of a bowling ally that has a large bowling pin on top. That pin is always the finish line. He prefers a length of chain to allow him maximum reach and hit anyone who is beating him. Magaki had a deep rooted hatred of Ikki after his defeat (rather ironic since he brought it upon himself when he bullied Ikki earlier before Ikki discoved ATS). Magaki, while portrayed as rather weak in comparison to opponents further on, is a skilled fighter, able to take down bouncers twice his size without injury, But shortly after in the anime he is killed by Agito


[edit] Potemkin

A storm rider team consisting of octuplets. They fight to protect the poor inhabitants of an abandoned ship from the government, who wants to reclaim the ship. They have no desire to lose or gain land and for this reason usually turn down parts war challenges. The only reason they accepted Kogarasumaru's challenge was because of the wagered Fang Regalia. They are an E-class team, but can be considered to be two to three times stronger when fighting on their ship, due to their familiarity with the territory. Ikki chose to fight them for Kogarasumaru to learn to crush the dreams of others. The rest of the team were up in arms about fighting them until they were told that Potemkin had greedy ulterior motives.

[edit] Animal House

A storm rider team whose members dress up as apes. So far, they are the only team to have defeated Kogarasumaru in an official Parts War battle. Their victory was largely because both Ikki and Agito were hospitalized and unable to compete, as well as the fact that Kogarasumaru completely underestimated them. In a later rematch, their entire team is wiped out by Om, the Water King, despite the fact that she was fighting on their side. In the end, Kogarasumaru, with Benkei in as a substitute, was able to defeat Om and win the Parts War battle.

[edit] Kintetsu Bulls

An A-class storm rider team that challenged and lost to Agito in a Parts War battle. It took them four years to achieve A-class. They wish to serve as an inspiration to AT riders around the world. They prefer to hang out at an old factory. During the Parts War with Agito, four of the Bulls best riders got injured.

Leader: Tokudawara Gonzō (a.k.a. T-Gonzō)

Voiced by: Tomoyuki Shimura (Japanese), John Gremillion (English)

T-Gonzō is the leader of the Bulls and a good friend of Inuyama. Like Inuyama, T-Gonzō has a sense of honor in AT fights. Also, like Inuyama, he has an oversized bull mask that covers his entire head. He wishes to become a pro soon. T-Gonzo trains in a very traditional manner. By keeping a set of heavy weights around his stomach at all times but challenges, T-Gonzo can always train his muscles to their limit. He was almost killed from Agito's attack, but was saved by Ikki and his friends. As a reward, T-Gonzō allows Ikki to have whatever he wants from the shop he owns for free.

[edit] White Wolf Clan

A C-class storm rider team that was created by a company in order to save it from bankruptcy. They mysteriously challenged Kogarasumaru in a Parts War in order to get the Regalias that they have, as well as to use the teenagers as their mascots. The team's leader is Kururu's dad. Each team member has a costume that they wear during Parts War. Although Kogarasumaru tries their best, they end up losing the match, because Kururu and other members of Tool Toul To helped The White Wolf Clan, so that Kogarasumaru knows defeat, so that they could reveal their true potentials.

[edit] Gravity Children

Team Status: Unknown

The Gravity Children (重力子 Jūryokushi?) is not actually a team but rather the self-given name of the genetically modified children who escaped the underground laboratory. The members include every king with the exception of Ine Makigai, Yoshitsune, Akito/Agito/Lind, Akira Udou, Kazu, and Rika. The original kings, Falco, Black Burn, Spitfire, Dontores, Kilik, Sora, and the current Sleeping Forest members Ringo, Ume, Mikan, Om, Gabishi and the two unidentified kings are also Gravity Children. Simca, Rune and Sora's twin brother, the current Gem king Nike are also members. Nue, the current Thunder King, later reveals his identity as a Gravity Child along with all the members of his team, when they are present to hear Spitfire's final recorded words. There are speculations that Ikki may also be one of the Gravity Children, but that is yet to be confirmed.The project which made both Brain Chargers and Gravity Children is believed to have been started by "Uncle" Minami. There is speculation that Uncle Minami is Ikki's father. Orca is also a gravity child.

The Gravity Children are distinguished by cross-shaped marks on their pupils. Apart from being highly skilled storm riders, they are also well adapted to the Zero Gravity inside the Trophaeum (having been raised under such conditions). This is possibly why the current Sleeping Forest, made up of only Gravity Children, has remained unbeaten in the Gram Scale Tournament.

Lind Wanijima has eye's Similar to Gravity Children but are completly different because they are X's instead of a Cross.

[edit] Windstorm G-Men

A special SWAT team that was created specifically for hunting down and arresting Storm Rider teams. The G-Men are just five, presumably veteran, cops with ATs. All of them are older people with Akito Wanijima as the youngest. They raided the Bull's factory after Agito finished the parts war.

Leader: Kaito Wanijima

Kaito Wanijima, a.k.a. "Shinjuku Crocodile," is Akito/Agito's older brother and the leader of the Windstorm G-Men. He seems to consider his younger brother, Akito, as his tool, but at the same time fears Akito's counterpart— Agito, the "Fang King". Even though Akito believes that his brother cares about him, he still only thinks of his brother as a tool and disguises his selfish intentions as brotherly love. Kaito carries a bullwhip that he uses to beat Agito when he disobeys him. Kaito also drives a massive Hummer and continually smokes cigarettes.

[edit] East Side Gunz

A gang that protected the Higachu Junior High School. This team has existed for 27 years but disbanded when Ikki picked up Air Trecks. The previous leader of the gang, Shinonome Higashichuu, is angry at Kazu for abandoning the offer for the head position. The condition for Kazu was that he brings them Ikki's head, Kazu refuses and beats them up. They later reappear at the school grounds and tell Ikki to make his own legacy.

Kei Machida (町田 形 Machida Kei?)

Professional emblem designer (someone who designs emblems for Storm Rider teams) and friend of Shiraume. Like Ume, she makes her own puppets. When Kogarasumaru meet her, she doesn't speak directly to the team, but talks through Shiraume.


Mari Tomita (富田 毬 Tomita Mari?)

Ikki's homeroom teacher. Young, cute and inexperienced, she's the perfect object of a junior high school student's fantasies. Referred to as Ton-chan (Tom-Tom in the English dub) by just about everyone, she has gotten involved with several of Kogarasumaru's adventures as an AT-team. A former student at Higashi Junior High herself, she's constantly being reprimanded by Orihara Masaya, the academic head of the school and her former teacher. She has a small car that the team used to travel to watch the battle where they first met Akito/Agito. She is constantly paranoid that someone is going to "steal her virginity." She also has a habit of doing H-stuff in public despite the aforementioned paranoia but this is because she doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between what should be private only things and public things, like wearing a small see through nightgown at a hotel because that is what she always wears to bed. On chapter 186, during a field trip she's seen wearing a very revealing swimsuit composed only of strings, after falling from a waterfall while Buccha was training. Tomita wanted to become a teacher because she was inspired by Orihara's actions the day he stopped the clock for her.

Masaya Orihara (折原 征也 Orihara Masaya?)

Academic head of Higashi Junior High-school, constantly tries to discipline Ikki and his team but with little success. He is a seventh degree blackbelt and has sent more than his fair share of vengeful students digging their own graves. He has a soft spot for Tomita Mari and encourages her constantly to be more strong. When she was in school, he stopped the clock tower permanently so that she would never be late. What was used to stop the clock was not any kind of technology but rather a small wheel like that used on AT's. Tomita is one of the few people that think that Orihara actually cares about students like Ikki. It is said that he once rode AT but this is yet to be proven.
