List of assigned /8 IP address blocks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some large /8 blocks (formerly constituting a "Class A network") of IP addresses are assigned to single organizations or related groups of organizations, either by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), through the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority[1], or a regional Internet registry.
Each /8 block has 16,777,214 addresses. Some organizations, such as Stanford University (formerly owner of the 36.0.0.0 – 36.255.255.255 range), have returned their designated ranges due to IP address shortages in recent years. Note that some of these allocations are actually twice as large, and can be considered contiguous /7 networks; such instances are marked in bold.
