List of Wild Arms Guardians

In the Wild Arms series, Guardians are the protectors of Filgaia. Taking the form of summons for use in battle, Guardians often have a tie to the protagonists of the series (Luceid is an exception). The characters carry Runes or Mediums which house the Guardians power.

Lucied is a special case in Wild Arms. She travels alongside the demon Boomerang and even fights against the party numerous times. It is said that she joined Boomerang for his desire for battle. This is the only case where Lucied has been female, as his gender changes to male in the later games.

[edit] Wild Arms 2

As with many other RPGs, Wild Arms 2 has a summon system. The summons, called guardians in-game, are bound to specialized pieces of equipment, called mediums. Each medium can be equipped to a character, boosting stats and granting them a special ability. When a character (other than Kanon and Marivel, who do not have the Combine ability) has reached 50 FP and Tim is also in the party, the player may use the Combine ability in order to summon the guardian to do their special elemental damage attack, which is generally very powerful. Later on, it is possible to power up the mediums - the enhanced mediums increase stats by a larger amount and do even greater damage when summoned. This installment in the series contains a total of sixteen Guardians, many recurring from Wild Arms while others were new and continued to be used in other games in the series.

Lucied is a special guardian in Wild Arms 2. Unlike in Wild Arms, Lucied is an inherently good character, feeding off the desire of Anastasia Valeria. He is her constant companion, and even fights beside her and Ashley at the beginning of disk two.

Moor Gault flies down from the sky, and encircles the battlefield with flame. He then soars back into the sky, searing enemies with a gigantic wave of fire.

Schturdark soars down from the sky and covers the field in water. With a massive roar, Schturdark unleashes a huge tidal wave that strikes the enemy party.

    • Analyze: See enemy statistics, like HP, status effects, elemental weaknesses, etc.

The battlefield is encompassed in wind. Sprinting to the battle area, Fengalon slices the air with its claw, and the enemy party is struck with the cutting power of wind.

    • Quicken: Raises response (RES)
    • Turbulence: Raises evasion (EVA)

Celesdue appears in space, and the enemy party is afflicted with extreme gravitational force. With a swipe of her hand, Celesdue uses the gravity to slam the enemy party into the lunar surface.

  • Magic:
    • Grav: Non-elemental attack spell, depletes half of remaining HP on target
    • Sleep: Attempts to inflict Sleep status on target
    • Eraser: Removes positive status effects from the target
    • Feeble Mind: Lowers magic resistance (MGR)

The sun begins to eclipse, and Stare Roe gathers power into its chest. When the sun is completely covered, Stare Roe blasts the gathered energy onto the battlefield, striking all enemies with the power of light.

  • Magic:
    • Spectre: Light elemental attack spell
    • Clearance: Removes negative status effects from ally, aside from Bomb or Fallen
    • Reflect: Reflects negative spells back at the caster
    • Valiant: Turns lost HP into strength (STR)

Chapapanga soars at extreme velocity towards the battlefield, and strikes the enemy party with a blizzard of flashes in an attempt to deal instant death. All enemies that are killed will drop an item.

  • Magic:
    • Hox Pox: Temporarily increases luck for ally
    • Pickpocket: Attempts to steal item from enemy
    • Randomizer: Casts random spell from the caster's list of Arcana regardless of FP total
    • Familiar: Does random elemental damage to target, ignoring elemental resistance

Dan Dairam appears on the field and freezes time. Depending on the amount of FP used to summon Dan Dairam, the summoner gets a certain number of turns in a row to attack the enemy.

  • Magic:
    • Banish: Attempts to instantly kill target
    • Replay: Repeats ally's command at the end of turn
    • Reset: Resets battle from the beginning
    • Escape: Allies attempt to escape from battle

Raftina appears on the battlefield. With a swipe of her sword, she heals your team of damage. Depending on the amount of FP used to summon her, she can heal the team of status effects and bring them back to life.

  • Magic:
    • Weaken: Forces an elemental weakness on a target
    • Status Lock: Protects from all negative status effects except for Bomb and Fallen
    • Copy Ability: Copies the target's skills and Arcana. The caster will not be able to cast his own Arcana until the battle ends or the skillset is deleted
    • Requiem: Instantly kills undead enemies

Justine appears on the field and strikes the enemy party with his spear. All enemies that the attack hits will be afflicted with instant death. The more FP the character uses to summon him, the higher the probability of successful attack. (note: this will not work on most bosses.)

  • Magic:
    • Magnarize: Non-elemental attack spell, damage dealt is dependent on the caster's FP
    • Synchronizer: Synchronizes the target's status with the caster's
    • Distortion: Forges a barrier that blocks out damage equivalent to 1/4 of your all's maximum HP
    • Hyper: Doubles the attack power of an ally

  • Summon: Phantasmic Heart
  • Magic:
    • Arc Impulse: Deals non-elemental damage to an enemy, damage depending on the caster's total magic power and the number of people guarding
    • Attachment: Gives an ally's attack an elemental property
    • Permanence: Removes turn limit on status boosts until the end of battle
    • Exploder: Turns target into a bomb, which explodes next turn, killing it and damaging all of its allies. The damage dealt is half of the target's current HP.

    • Dark Matter: strong Dark elemental attack.

    • Lifedrain: drains HP from target and adds to the casters health

In Wild Arms 4, Guardians are approached much differently that in the previous games in the series. Instead of having mediums that can be equipped, Yulie has a device on her hand which allows her to communicate with the Guardian Program. Which Guardian is summoned depends on what element the hex she is standing on is.
