In Stone County, one person was killed and many buildings were damaged including a hospital which lost its roof and the local fire station was destroyed. Two more people were killed in Izard County before the tornado finally lifted in Sharp County. In all, 200 buildings were destroyed and thousands were damaged during the tornadoes 2 hour life span.
