During the history of the United States, many presidential relatives have been noted in the media, often because of their "controversial", "scandalous" or otherwise notable behavior.

- George H. W. Bush - father, 41st President of the United States
- Barbara Bush - mother, former First Lady of the United States
- Barbara and Jenna Bush - his twin daughters
- Neil Bush - his brother

- John Prescott Ellis - cousin of George W. Bush; called the 2000 presidential election for Bush for Fox News.
- Billy Bush - his first cousin, son of Jonathan Bush (former CEO of Investment Management Company of Riggs Bank), host of the NBC-Universal's television show "Access Hollywood."
- Chief Judge John Mercer Walker, Jr. - Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, cousin of George H.W. Bush. He was appointed by President George H. W. Bush for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, serving as a judge from 1989 to the present, and since 2000 as the Chief Judge of the Second Circuit.

- Tadd Roosevelt - nephew: son of his much older half-brother, James Roosevelt (Rosy).
- Tadd was about the same age as Franklin and they attended Harvard at the same time. However Tadd dropped out, moved to New York, and married a Hungarian born prostitute with whom he stayed until her death forty years later. He was disowned by his father and all relations with the family were ended. He never touched the inheritance left from his grandmother's side of the family (the Astors, unrelated to Franklin) and left it all to the Salvation Army upon his death.
