The following is a list of episodes for the drama television series, The Unit. The series began airing on CBS on March 7, 2006, in the United States as a mid-season replacement.[1] Created by David Mamet, The Unit follows an United States Army top-secret special forces team and their missions abroad, in addition to the effect their careers have on their wives and girlfriends. The Unit began its first season on March 7, 2006 and concluded on May 16, 2006; the second season debuted on September 19, 2006 and completed on May 8, 2007. The third season started on September 25, 2007, with a hiatus occurring after the 11th episode due to 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. The show was picked up for a fourth season by CBS on May 12, 2008.[2] As of December 18, 2007, 47 episodes of the series have aired.

The first two seasons have been released to Region 1 DVD by 20th Century Fox in the form of individual season box sets, which include deleted scenes, behind the scenes featurettes, and commentaries. 20th Century Fox has also released both sets to Region 2 DVD in the United Kingdom.

Originally broadcast between March 7, 2006 and May 16, 2006, the first season introduces the members of The Unit and their families. As the season progresses various plots and story arcs are explored, such as Tiffy Gerhardt's affair with Colonel Tom Ryan and Molly Blane's mission to find the army widow who conned her out of her savings. In the United States, the first season of The Unit averaged 15.5 million viewers and was the fourteenth most watched show during the 2005-2006 television season.[3]

The team, except for Bob, is deployed to Africa to retrieve a radiological component of a crashed Chinese satellite. On base, Bob must deal with his family, who are still settling in, and interrogation from an FBI agent. Meanwhile, the wives comfort the wife of a soldier who was killed in action.

Jonas is sent to rescue a group of missionaries in Indonesia, while Bob must prove to the team that he is up to the job, after making a mistake in training. On base, the wives prepare to host a visiting senator who holds the power to increase financing for the Unit's military training.

The team is sent to Los Angeles to protect Mexico's Drug Minister who has been threatened with assassination. The team are able to prevent an attempt the minister's life, but his wife and two young sons are kidnapped. On base, a former Unit wife returns to recruit their husbands into the private sector.

The team is forced to escape Spain when their mission to assassinate a terrorist is called off by the government. On base, Molly learns that her daughter, Betsy, wants to drop out of college. Kim considers to sign up for courses at the local college.

The team is sent to Beirut to prevent the Russians from selling nuclear information to the Iranians. On base, Colonel Tom Ryan tries to end his affair with Tiffy, but she will not listen. Kim begins to ask Molly questions after she sees Tiffy enter a motel room.

While on a mission in Afghanistan to assassinate a high ranking member of the Taliban, the team attempts to rescue other Unit members when their helicopter experiences engine problems. On base, Molly confronts Ron Cheals about his addiction to painkillers and Kim tries to land a job at a radio station.

The team participates in a SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance Escape) training drill in which they are treated as prisoners of war. The drill pushes them to their mental and physical limits when the doctor who runs SERE places their lives in danger. On base, Kim struggles with her faith in God, while Molly tries to help her find it again.

The team must recover seven stinger missiles from a Brazilian arms merchant, who uses children as guards, before he sells them to Islamic militants. On base, Kim causes trouble when she tries to bring about change in the family-readiness group and Hector's girlfriend discovers what his real job is in the Army.

Bob's cover is compromised while guarding the U.S. Secretary of State in Africa. On base, Molly is conned when she agrees to purchase a home from an army widow and Kim receives an unwelcome visit at the radio station from an admirer she spoke to on the phone.

During the Unit's annual "Day of the Dead" celebration, Jonas must deal with a young man wants to know the truth about his father's death. Meanwhile, Molly tracks down the woman who conned her and Bob is faced with a dilemma when a Unit widow insists that he sleep with her.

The team is sent to Atlanta to defuse a bomb. Kim discovers that her vacation with Bob to Cancún, Mexico is actually cover for a mission. Bob asks for her help to catch a spy who is selling top-secret files to the Chinese government.

The team is sent to assist the French Foreign Legion in capturing a former Yugoslavian general for war crimes. On base, Jonas learns that Molly has lost their savings and Tiffy considers divorcing Mack after she reads a letter indicating that he has re-enlisted.

Originally broadcast between September 19, 2006 and May 8, 2007, the second season introduces several new characters to the series. Tiffy has trouble with the law when she covers for Colonel Ryan's wife, Charlotte, and The Unit is investigated by the CIA over infractions that could result in criminal charges.

The team is sent to Paraguay to eliminate a militia rebel leader, but the mission is put on hold when they must rescue two operators trapped by a sniper. On base, the wives help the fiancé of a deceased Unit member gain custody of her two would be step-daughters.

The team must find a terrorist who is planning to attack a nuclear waste train. On base, Kim becomes upset when she sees a strange man talking to her daughter, Serena, outside of school.

The team must evacuate an exiled dictator from an American hospital during a hurricane, but discover that other patients have been left behind. On base, Molly struggles over whether to honor Jeremy's request to be sent to Iraq and Tiffy and Mack decide to have another baby.

The team are sent to Africa on a mission to track down smuggled diamonds. On base, the wives organize "Old Home Week" to raise funds to help those in service in Iraq. Kim discovers an undelivered letter written by a soldier to someone he deeply loved, shortly before he was killed in action in 1944. She attempts to find the soldier's widow through his friend-in-arms and deliver the letter to her.

Jonas enlists Bob to take part in an unofficial operation to extract Ron Cheals' illegitimate daughter from a religious cult whose members are about to flee the U.S. On base, Tiffy covers for Charlotte Ryan when she is questioned by the police after she sees her driving erratically and discovers pills in her car.

Bob and his translator are stranded in the Russian wilderness after their helicopter crashes. As Bob fights to save his translator's life, he remembers his experience during Unit selection through a series of flashbacks

The team are sent to assassinate a prominent Latin American official who threatens the U.S. oil supply, but the mission is made difficult for Jonas when the woman posing as his wife begins to take her role very seriously. Colonel Tom Ryan travels to Washington, D.C. and is questioned about the Unit's mission during a congressional briefing.

Colonel Ryan is shut down by his contacts in Washington when Jonas becomes a prisoner of war in Georgia. Since his contacts refuse to cooperate with him, Colonel Ryan sends the team to rescue Jonas. On base, Tiffy learns she may face time in prison for her involvement in covering up Charlotte's reckless driving.

Jonas' father is awarded the Silver Star for his actions in Korea. Jonas recalls his father's actions to his nephew, also a soldier, after he learns that his nephew beats his young wife. On base, Mack and Bob must help land a plane that has flown into a restricted area.

Kim is overheard discussing a dream she had which inexplicably contains secret details of the team's dangerous mission to North Korea. Colonel Ryan learns of the dream and believes Bob told Kim about the plan. Meanwhile, Jonas has to deal with the captain of a South Korean submarine who refuses to do missions.

The team is sent into Iran to deploy sensors for detecting nuclear weapons, but the mission becomes complicated when civilians become involved. On base, Tiffy considers whether she should help a soldier who went AWOL and Molly visits Jeremy in the burn unit. She becomes disappointed when Crystal does not come to visit him.

The team is sent on a mission to protect a Middle Eastern dignitary at the United Nations, but must defuse a bomb found in the office of the U.N. secretary general. Meanwhile, Molly and Tiffy visit Vietnam to honor the soldiers who fought there. On base, Crystal tries to seduce Mack and threatens to tell Tiffy about their relationship.

The team competes against other elite military forces from around the world in counter-terrorism games staged in Hamburg, Germany, but the games turn deadly when someone tries to use them to stage a real act of terrorism. Meanwhile, Kim meets a former boyfriend while on a business trip and learns that he is now a multimillionaire and recently divorced.

The team captures three Pakistani men from a Waziristan village to take in for questioning, but they are pursued by the local militia. After arriving at an Army support base in a remote area of Afghanistan, the team find the base in a state of disarray and must prepare the troops against an attack from the militia.

Grey becomes involved in a relationship with a female Israeli soldier when the team travels to Israel to study advanced desert warfare. When the two go off into the desert alone, they become surrounded by hostile Arab militia. On base, Tiffy stumbles upon a windfall which makes her question her motives.

A VX nerve agent bomb has been stolen from a nearby military arsenal. While Mack mans the TOC, Jonas leads the other Team members on an attempt to recover the stolen bomb. When the bomb is loaded on a plane, Bob pursues it on another plane. On base, an accident between Mack and Tiffy in the garage is misinterpreted as a domestic dispute and Ryan orders Mack to move to the BEQ. Kim tries to start a military talk show at the radio station.

On the home front, Kim is confronted by a suicidal caller on her Talk-Show, Bob gets a promotion to Sergeant First Class, and Charles is having an internal struggle about dating his late-friend-and-teammate Hector Williams' ex-girlfriend.
