The following is a list of episodes of the Canadian animated television series The Raccoons. The series began as TV specials broadcast between 1980 and 1984, before becoming a regular series in 1985.

The Raccoons began life as four television specials:

01 "The Christmas Raccoons"  1980
The Raccoons project-- a Christmas special, with an environmentalist message, that introduced the three principle Raccoons (Bert, Ralph, Melissa), Cyril Sneer, Cedric Sneer, Ranger Dan, Tommy, Julie, and Schaeffer. This is the only time in the whole franchise where the humans (Tommy and Julie) and the Raccoons met each other.[citation needed] 
02 "The Raccoons on Ice"  1981
A second special which focused on a hockey game between the Raccoons and Cyril's team, for the fate of Evergreen Lake. Introduces Cedric's girlfriend Sophia Tutu, the Sneer's pet dog Snag, and Cyril's bear henchmen. The characters are all far-more closer in style to the final series' characterisations of them (notably Ralph and Melissa, who previously seemed to have the same personality as Bert rather than their calmer, more intellectual forms, seen later). The animation had also progressed significantly from the first special too, notably the images of both Cyril and Cedric.[citation needed] 
03 "The Raccoons and the Lost Star"  1983
Toyed with the series concepts and format, setting the action on an alien planet that Schaeffer the dog ends up on (possibly an early attempt to write-out the three human characters he had been seen with in the previous two specials). Also introduces Cyril's three pig flunkies and Broo the puppy. Considered by many to be closest to the regular series in terms of tone, characterization, etc. Also of note is that it was twice the length of the other specials.[citation needed] 
04 "The Raccoons: Let's Dance"  1984

A made-for-video "music video" consisting largely of clips from the previous specials set to songs (also from the previous specials), joined together with newly animated footage and a flimsy plot. When this special was produced, it is assumed that the series had already been planned.[citation needed]

Note: A lot of instrumentals throughout the series that were played in the background were from the songs in this episode.[citation needed]

Sixty episodes were broadcast between 1985 and 1992. All the episode titles had exclamation marks at the end.[citation needed]

Bert, Ralph, Melissa, and the rest of the gang plan a surprise for Cyril the aardvark, which makes him paranoid when he thinks that the Raccoons are planning an uprising against him. Several aspects of this episode appear to have been based on the "Lost Star" special.[citation needed] 
02 "Going It Alone!"  1985 "Night After Night"
Bert wants to prove to Ralph and Melissa that he can do something on his own like climbing Evergreen Mountain, however Cyril has a secret on the top and is determined to keep Bert from getting to the top. Can Melissa apologize in time or will Cyril's traps make Bert go Bye-Bye?[citation needed] 
03 "A Night to Remember!"  1985 "All Life Long"
Bert and Ralph upset Melissa and Sophia when they decide to take Cedric on a 'guys only' hiking expedition to a fort that they built as children. However, things get spooky when the pigs play tricks on them in a haunted house.[citation needed] 
04 "The Evergreen Grand Prix!"  1985 "Here I Go Again"

The Raccoons' way of life is threatened when Cyril Sneer announces his bid for a lucrative contract from Mammoth Industries. If he wins he'll pave over the forest and build an automobile plant. Unless Cedric's solar powered car can defeat Cyril's gas guzzling hot rod in a race, the forest is doomed.[citation needed]

First appearance of Mr. Mammoth and his bird sidekick.[citation needed] 
05 "The Runaways!"  1985 "Sooner or Later"
Cedric runs away from home and moves in with Bert and the other Raccoons, following pressure from Cyril. However, he soon realizes how much he misses his father and all of the little things that made Sneer Mansion his home. Ironically,Cyril feels the same way when he realizes he can't take the business without Cedric. At the same time, Julie and Tommy run away when their father is annoyed by their tidyness habits.[citation needed] 
06 "Buried Treasure!"  1985 "Missing It"
An old treasure map sends Bert and Cedric on an adventure. Unfortunately, Cyril Sneer not only has eyes on the treasure, but also a fake deed to the land that it is buried on.[citation needed] 
07 "The Intruders!"  1985 "Hang On, Hold On"
When Ralph and Cedric become trapped in his new vault, Cyril must team up with the Raccoons to get past his hi-tech security system in order to rescue them.[citation needed] 
08 "Opportunity Knocks!"  1986 "Ain't no Planes"
Ralph is set to take an editing job in the city, while Schaeffer and Broo are moving away with Ranger Dan, it looks like the gang is going to be split up...until they find something worth staying for. Can Bert convince the rest of the Gang, or will he have to face Cyril's threats all by himself?[citation needed] 
09 "Cry Wolf!"  1986 "Here I Go Again"
Bert's attempts to liven up the Evergreen Standard with some 'creative writing' mean that nobody believes him when he stumbles upon a real story: An insomniac Cyril wants to pave over the forest so that he can get an uninterrupted night's sleep.[citation needed] 
10 "Rumours!"  1986 "Missing It"

Cedric and Sophia overhear that royalty is coming to the Evergreen Forest, sending Bert on a quest to become a knight, and leading Cyril to believe that his family title (taken away after his great-great uncle Excalibur Sneer tried to steal the crown jewels) is about to be restored. Unfortunately for both of them, things are not quite what they seem.[citation needed]

Goof: Cedric tells Sophia that Excalibur Sneer was Cyril's great-great-great uncle. Cyril, a few minutes later, states that Excalibur was his great-great uncle.[citation needed] 
11 "Gold Rush!"  1986 "Don't Fear the Fire"

Things look bad for the Evergreen Standard when Cyril Sneer tries to starve them of supplies, buying up every ink and paper company he can get his hands on. But has Cyril bit off more than he can chew, in promising to pay for them using gold bullions?[citation needed]

First appearance of Mr. Knox.[citation needed]

The Mammoth Mudhens are coming to town, and they are looking for the baseball stars of tomorrow. Rivalries flair when it becomes clear that there is only one contract on offer. Will it go to Bert or Cedric, and will their friendship survive?[citation needed]

Note: This is the first episode featuring Susan Roman as Melissa, Lisa Lougheed as the main singer instead of Lunt or Luba, and the new Hinton Studio's animation as opposed to all the previous works' Atkinson animation.[citation needed] 
13 "The Sweet Smell of Success!"  1987 "Hang On, Hold On" & "The Sweet Smell of Success"

Bert turns his back on his friends to become the spokesperson for Cyril Sneer's new cologne-- 'Success'. But is the world of super-stardom all it's cracked up to be?[citation needed]

Note: From this episode on, the instrumental to "Sweet Smell of Success" was played.[citation needed] 
14 "Blast from the Past!"  1987 "This Time"
Cyril is sent into a panic when he learns that his old business partner 'Karl Snarl', whom he double crossed years earlier, is about to return and "give him what he deserves". Meanwhile, Bert finds an old helicopter, and Melissa must overcome her fear of heights in order to save her friends.[citation needed] 
15 "Power Trip!"  1987 "Hold Back Tomorrow"
Due to an unpaid bill, Mammoth power cuts Cyril's energy supply, and Cyril plans to build a power dam to put Mammoth in his place. But there's a catch — it must be completed in 48 hours. Ralph's old Aunt Gertie shows up when he and Melissa are about to go on a canoe trip. Upon hearing of peanut butter fudge, Bert volunteers to stay and look after her. Bert and Cedric learn the hard way that old folks aren't as helpless as they look.[citation needed] 
16 "Stop the Clock!"  1987 "Growing Up"
Cousin Bentley comes to visit the Raccoons. Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer tries to regain his youthfulness with a magic potion.[citation needed] 
17 "The Artful Dodger!"  1987 "Here I Go Again"
Bert and Melissa explore the mysterious Endless Echo caverns and happen upon some unusual cave paintings — and a monster! After bidding $50,000 on a small painting, Cyril Sneer learns of the profitability of the art market. The pigs try their hand at painting.[citation needed] 
18 "Last Legs!"  1987 "Stop the Clock"

Cyril Sneer has a bad cold, and due to a misunderstanding, the pigs convince him he's dying. Bert, hearing the news, puts all of his printing press savings into a monument for Cyril, and even holds some odd jobs to gain more funding. But when Cyril finds out he isn't dying at all, he tries to take advantage of the opportunity to bankrupt the Evergreen Standard![citation needed]

Note: This is the only Raccoons Episode not to feature Cedric Sneer, even though he is mentioned.[citation needed] 
19 "Read No Evil!"  1987 "New World"
After a close call in Beaver Bite Swamp, Bert and Cedric meet Herman the hermit, and learn the swamp may have oil under it. This grabs Cyril's attention, and he tries to buy the swamp out from underneath Herman. To further complicate matters, Herman can't read. Can the swamp be saved?[citation needed] 
20 "Courting Disaster!"  1987 "Got Me Singing"
After Cyril Sneer is heard talking about making a proposal at Lady Baden-Baden's party, and the pigs accidentally send Baden-Baden the wrong letter, it seems that the two are going to get married. Things take a turn for the worse when it turns out that Mr. Knox is in love with Lady Baden-Baden too, and soon Knox and Cyril are ducking it out for her hand in marriage. Meanwhile, Cedric is torn over the situation.[citation needed] 
21 "Time Trap!"  1987 "Stop the Clock"
Join Cyril Sneer, Floyd (or Boyd), and T.O.M. the time machine in a journey to past episodes![citation needed]

When Lady Baden-Baden's priceless Prism of Zenda is stolen out from under Cyril Sneer's nose, it is up to Bert Raccoon (Ace Detective) to find it and save the day before Mr. Knox and Lady Baden-Baden find out what has happened.[citation needed] 
23 "Paperback Hero!"  1988 "Here I Go Again"
When famous explorer and nonfiction author Sir Malcolm Havelock arrives in the Evergreen Forest, Bert is bent on coming along on his next expedition. Cyril hears about the expedition, and the possibility of finding treasure, and decides to invest in it. But Sir Malcolm has a dark secret...[citation needed] 
24 "The Chips Are Down!"  1988 "Restless in the Night"

Before Cyril Sneer can sell his feeble potato chip plant to Mr. Knox, he desperately needs to increase his sales figures. So he and the pigs hold a phony contest for a new bike. Bert gets sucked into the contest and wastes all his money on it... until the pigs screw up on the assembly line.[citation needed]

Note: This episode has a subtle anti-drugs message.[citation needed] 
25 "Life in the Fast Lane!"  1988 "Run With Us" & "Hold Back Tomorrow"
When local dirt bike champ Bix Wheelie comes to town, trouble is not far behind for Cedric, who takes the blame for Bix's antics, and Bert, who has to learn that life in the fast lane is not always as much fun as it appears to be.[citation needed] 
26 "Monster Mania!"  1988 "Growing Up"
When Melissa and Bert spot a fire breathing monster in Evergreen Lake, tourists begin flocking to see it. Cyril Sneer, takes advantage of the opportunity and tries to sell overpriced monster merchandise. In the end, the monster is exposed as a fake.[citation needed] 
27 "Mom's the Word!"  1988 "Restless in the Night"
Cyril Sneer just bought a 1930s "Clarence Cyclone" limousine and is souping it up for the big antique car show. A surprise visitor shows up at Sneer mansion, in the form of Ms. Pig, the pigs' mother. She is convinced the pigs are tycoons due to their misleading letters, and so she asks them for some cash to help rebuild the old family home after its destruction by a hurricane. Ms. Pig also brings along her old "Harvey Hurricane" Coup. When Cyril Sneer sees Bert and Schaeffer fixing it up for her, he sees some competition...[citation needed] 
28 "Picture Perfect!"  1988 "Here I Go Again"
When Melissa manages to get some photos of Snag saving Cedric from a fire, she is offered a job for World Times Magazine. Word of Snag's heroics also gets out to a TV producer, and he gets a chance to become the star of a television show.[citation needed] 
29 "Strictly by the Book!"  1988 "Stop The Clock"

After Cedric is derided by his friends for not being assertive or confident enough, Cyril ships him off to Improve University, and he comes back a changed aardvark. Eventually, nobody can stand the 'new and improved' Cedric. It's up to Cyril and the Raccoons to change Cedric back to his old self.[citation needed]

Note: Last appearance of Sophia as a recurring character. She returns for a brief cameo in The Headline Hunter.[citation needed] 
30 "The Evergreen Express!"  1988 "Run With Us"
As Cyril Sneer faces losing his mansion over a huge unpaid debt, Bert discovers a long-lost steam locomotive where an infamous train robber apparently stashed ten million dollars![citation needed] 
31 "Trouble Shooter!"  1988 "Come On Home"

When Bert and Cedric find Bentley in the old fort, they take him in and find out that he went through a personal crisis and has run away from home. Meanwhile, the Sneer Mansion's new computerized security system goes on the fritz, and attempts to kill Cyril and the pigs.[citation needed]

Note: In this episode, Bentley refers to Ralph and Melissa as "Uncle Ralph" and "Aunt Melissa". It was stated by Ralph in the "Stop the Clock" episode that Bentley was Ralph's cousin, but this is the first episode that references him as Ralph's nephew.[citation needed] 
32 "The Paper Chase!"  1988 "When the Sun Comes Up"
When Ralph gets nominated by the civic election committee for his work on the standard, he turns into an egotistical jerk in an attempt to improve every aspect of the paper. Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer is elected for a business award, but his winning is jepordized when the bears go on strike. He leaves the pigs in charge of negotiation.[citation needed] 
33 "Simon Says!"  1988 "Growing Up"
Simon Sneer, Cyril's supposed brother, shows up at Sneer Mansion expecting inheritance, and it's up to Bert Raccoon to unmask him as an imposter.[citation needed] 
34 "Games People Play!"  1988 "Hold Back Tomorrow"
Cyril Sneer goes on a game show and must recall voices of acquaintances from past episodes to win the prize. Things take a turn for the worse when the tax collector is mixed into the situation.[citation needed]

Cyril Sneer's childhood friend Woodchuck Berry shows up in the Evergreen forest.[citation needed]

Ralph jealously competes in the Evergreen airshow when Melissa's old lover comes to call.[citation needed] 
37 "Bully for You!"  1989 "Stop The Clock"
Cyril Sneer opts to look after Knox's prickly nephew for a while. This is quickly noted as a mistake, when he begins to beat on Cedric and the pigs. This also converges with Bert and Cedric's planned trip to the Quartz tower.[citation needed] 
38 "A Catered Affair!"  1989 "Here I Go Again"
The pigs sign on to cater Knox's anniversary party to make some extra money for their up coming holidays. However, Lady Baden-Baden is employed at the Blue Spruce Café to Knox's displeasure, leading to a great dispute. Meanwhile, Cyril gets word of the pigs working for Knox, and feels that they are deserting him. In attempt to win them back, Cyril must help the pigs save Knox and Baden-Baden's marriage.[citation needed] 
39 "Search and Rescue!"  1989 "Come On Home" & "Bananazz"
Bert and Cedric go exploring on Jack Pine Island to find a fallen meteorite, but they don't tell anyone where they're going, and get stranded. Soon everyone else is desperately scouring the forest, and consulting Lady Baden-Baden's astrology, to find them. Meanwhile, the pigs use some astrology of their own in attempt to get a raise out of the boss, only to have him take a plunge in Banana sales.[citation needed] 
40 "Spring Fever!"  1989 "Teach Me"

Bert falls in love with Lisa, Bentley's older sister, when she comes to visit the Evergreen Forest. After much procrastination, he gets a date with her. But will Lisa return his feelings? Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer must choose to attend a camp reunion with Cedric or meet infamous tycoon J.P. Gordon.[citation needed]

41 "The Family Secret!"  1989 "New World"
When searching the family archives for one of Lady Baden-Baden's literary projects, Bert and Cedric learn that Cyril Sneer is adopted. Meanwhile, the pigs hypnotize Cyril for similar information. However, they take advantage of this to get raises. They also see to it that a hypnoyzed Cyril Sneer drives them and his limo into the local swamp.[citation needed] 
42 "The Great Escape!"  1989 "Can't Trust Myself"
When Tromboni the magician shows up in the Evergreen forest, Bert is bent on becoming his apprentice, even if it kills him! Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer tries to sell Knox his new $75,000 secure vault.[citation needed] 
43 "Making the Grade!"  1989 "Teach Me"
When Bentley comes for his annual visit to the forest, Bert and Cedric take him to see the old Evergreen Schoolhouse. There, they meet their old teacher, Ms. Primrose, and learn the school is too small for government regulation, and must be closed. Will Cyril Sneer help them out, or is the school really going to close?[citation needed] 
44 "Science Friction!"  1989 "Growing Up"
Cyril goes out of control trying to be a good father for Cedric, when he builds an amateur flying machine to enter in the science fair. When Bert finds a tar pit with dinosaur bones in it, The pigs see some competition, and sabotage Bert's science project in the form of pouring Snag's bones into the pit, with Snag hell-bent on revenge.[citation needed] 
45 "Stealing the Show!"  1989 "Can't Trust Myself"
Floyd (Pig 3) takes up shop lifting to impress his brother's comic book lust. Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer and Mr. Knox compete products in a contest in attempt to conqure the skateboard industry.[citation needed] 
46 "The Phantom of Sneer Mansion!"  1989 "Never even know what time it is"
Strange things happen down at the old theater, when Cyril tries to put on Cedric's play. It's up to Detective Bert (and the others) to find the culprit! All the while, Cyril tries to get Lady Baden-Baden a larger roll in Cedric's play so he can get in on Knox's 'big deal'. Beachcombers star Bruno Gerussi makes a guest voice as Edward Miller.[citation needed] 
47 "The Headline Hunter!"  1989 "Never give up"

It was bound to happen -- The pigs get sick of Cyril's treatment, and hire ace TV reporter Barbara LaFrum to ruin his reputation, and get them that raise they've always wanted! Meanwhile, Bert and the gang recall past episodes as they prepare for the big Bachelor auction.[citation needed]

Note: Sophia Tutu makes a short return in this episode. Barbara LaFrum was voiced by the late Barbara Frum.[citation needed]

Cyril Sneer attempts a relationship with a movie star whom he meets in a car accident, only to find that she has an extreme dislike for his recent business client. Meanwhile, Bert and Cedric must deal with the traumatizing experience of sky diving.[citation needed] 
49 "Stress Test!"  1990 "Run With Us"
When Cyril Sneer is taken to the hospital after getting an ulcer, it's up to the pigs to keep track of his big land deal. Meanwhile, Bert gets ripped off by Milton Midas, and attempts to retrieve a refund.[citation needed] 
50 "Moving In!"  1990 "All Life Long"
Ralph's brother George moves into the Evergreen Forest, along with his wife Nicole, and Lisa and Bentley. Lisa has trouble getting adjusted to living in the forest, away from all her friends. Meanwhile, the pigs are fired, and get a job working at Mr. Knox's TV station.[citation needed] 
51 "End of the Line!"  1990 "Growing Up"
Needing a new product to sell to Mammoth at an upcoming business conferrence, Cyril puts Cedric in charge of the project. In doing so, Cedric realizes that 'Sneer Snake oil', one of Cyril's existing products, can be used as Sunblock. Meanwhile, a train-load of garbage mysteriously arrives in the forest, prompting Ralph and Melissa to research it's origin.[citation needed] 
52 "Easy Money!"  1990 "Restless in the Night"
When Bently destroys Bert's new RC car, he turns to an advertising scam to repay the debt, resulting in he and the pigs getting trapped in the endless echo caverns. Now Bert, Lisa and Cedric must brave the underground tunnels of Evergreen Lake to set them free.[citation needed] 
53 "Endless Summer!"  1990 "Endless Summer (Instrumental)"
When the pigs talk Bentley into taking a job at Cyril's new robotics company, he does too good a job, and Cyril promotes him right off the bat. The pigs take offence at this, as they figure they deserve the raise for "Bringing Bentley into the organization". Thus, they screw up the computer system resulting in Bentley's dismissal. When Cyril sees the light, he must confront Bentley, who is now on a camping trip with Bert and Cedric.[citation needed] 
54 "Promises Promises!"  1990 None
Bert bites off more than he can chew, trying to please everyone in preparation for the fair. The pigs' mother visits again, just in time to witness their little Jam making scheme.[citation needed] 
55 "Black Belt Bentley!"  1990 "Growing Up"
After getting picked on by some of his school mates, Bentley desires to learn self defence. To his advantage, Schaffer reveals he is a Black belt in Karate, and opts to teach him, Bert, and Cedric. But when Schaffer realizes Bentley's prospects with martial arts, he refuses to teach Bentley due to a troubled past. Meanwhile, Cyril Sneer destroys one of his own companies in an attempt to conquer the soft drink industry.[citation needed] 
56 "The Wrong Stuff!"  1990 "When the Sun Comes Up"
As Cyril is about to launch his own Satellite TV service, the notion excites Ralph and Schaeffer over forty sports channels, while the pigs attempt to transmit a message to their mother for her birthday. Elsewhere, to prove to his parents he is capable of handling his own dog, Bert allows Bentley to watch over Broo for the weekend. He fails though, when Broo gets trapped inside Cyril's satellite, thus leading to a time sensitive chase to save him.[citation needed] 
57 "Join the Club!"  1991 "Can't Trust Myself"
Bowing to peer pressure, Lisa starts smoking; meanwhile, Cyril Sneer tries to join an exclusive golf club. In the end, the two discuss the merits of individuality.[citation needed] 
58 "The Evergreen Election!"  1991 "Here I Go Again"
Bert decides to run against Cyril Sneer for mayor of the Evergreen Forest. They use references from past episodes to support their political views.[citation needed] 
59 "The One That Got Away!"  1991 "Ain't no Planes"
The pigs need cash. Something they simply can't get from the boss. The answer? Moonlight for Milton Midas, Dump some odd drums in the gorge, and all of your troubles are gone! That is, if the drums weren't to land in a river that empties into the forest's waterhole. But this is no ordinary waterhole. It is part of Cyril's new ad campaign, Bert and Cedric's fishing hole, as well as home to the largest cat fish in the area.[citation needed] 
60 "Go for Gold!"  1991 "Hold Back Tomorrow"
Cyril Sneer retires and Cedric takes over the family business. Robin Steel, a sleazy con artist, soon convinces him to organize a bogus race, in which Bert and Lisa compete, putting a strain on their relationship.[citation needed]
