Taare Zameen Par (Hindi: तारे ज़मीन पर, English: Stars on Earth) is a 2007 award-winning Hindi film directed by Aamir Khan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Khan also stars in the film, sharing the screen with the debut (and award-winning) performance of Darsheel Safary as Ishaan. The film was initially conceived of and developed by the husband and wife team, Amole Gupte (writer and creative director) and Deepa Bhatia (concept, research, and editing) [1] and features music by the trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. It tells the story of a young child who suffers greatly in school until a teacher identifies him as dyslexic.
Critically acclaimed,[2] Taare Zameen Par won the 2008 Filmfare Best Movie Award as well as a number of other Filmfare and Star Screen Awards. It was declared tax free by the Government of Delhi.[3]
