This list includes Superfund sites in Washington, DC designated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.

The Superfund law pays for toxic waste cleanups at sites where no other responsible parties could pay for a cleanup by assessing a tax on petroleum and chemical industries. The chemical and petroleum fees are intended to provide incentives to use less toxic substances.^{[citation needed]}
