From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following is a list of episodes for the Comedy Central original series Strangers with Candy. The series started on April 7, 1999, and concluded its third and final season on October 2, 2000.
Each episode credits Paul Dinello and Amy Sedaris as writer, though the DVD commentary and interviews reveal that Stephen Colbert was equally a part of the writing staff. Hence, the column in the table below reads "Credited Writers" and only displays those who were officially credited with the script to each episode. This is especially necessary for, in some cases, an outside writer (not part of the show's writing staff) contributing a script. Usually, that outside script would serve as the baseline for the episode and be heavily rewritten and edited by the official writing staff, and the Credited Writers category is the most fitting place to put the credit for their contribution to the show.

Jerri is recruited by a cult of happy people who sing the same song (a lot), and Flatpoint High begins a radical change in politics, becoming a totalitarian regime, keeping its students/citizens to a code of strict anonymity and perfect obedience. Cult elements are borrowed primarily from two films: 1) Ticket to Heaven, which was made from the nonfiction book Moonwebs: Journey into the Mind of a Cult by Josh Freed. Moonwebs describes Freed and his friend (whom he calls 'Benji Miller') and their negative experiences with the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his Unification Church. 2) Split Image (1982). [1] |
