The following is a ranking of National Hockey League franchises by number of appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals since 1915. Prior to this time, from 1894 to 1914, the Cup was won by challenge or league championship. Teams played in the NHL exclusively at the time they won the Stanley Cup unless marked otherwise.
