List of South Park episodes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is an episode list for the Comedy Central animated television series South Park. The series has its roots in 1992 when Trey Parker and Matt Stone created the animated short The Spirit of Christmas (Jesus vs. Frosty), while enrolled at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The series began on August 13, 1997, and ended the first half of its 12th season on April 23, 2008.

Comedy Central signed a contract with Stone and Parker, extending South Park to 15 seasons, with each new season having 14 episodes, bringing the series total to 223 episodes.[1][2] As of April 23, 2008, 174 episodes of South Park have been produced and aired. Currently, the first ten seasons are available on Region 1 (US) DVD. Region 2 (Europe) has released the first six on DVD (note: these differ from the Region 1 versions) as well as selling episodes in different volumes. A feature-length film, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, was released during the third season on June 30, 1999.

This list is ordered by the air dates of the episodes. This is because of a reference made in episode 802 to a previous event in episode 804, and the positioning of the episode celebrating 100 episodes does not fit in production order.

Two polls have been held on the Comedy Central website for fans to choose their favorite episodes to be shown in TV marathons, aired initially in the United States. Lists of various poll winners follow the main episode list.

Imaginationland: The Movie premieres on Comedy Central on July 27 at 10:00 p.m. It will be aired as a feature-length, director's cut film, complete with previously unaired footage created especially for the movie.
