Sakurada Jun is a hikikomori, or a boy who has decided to isolate himself from the outside world, and legally doesn't go to school. In his time, Jun orders "supernatural" items online, only to return them again. One day, he receives a paper asking him whether he will "wind" or "not wind". Jun carelessly accepts, but in turn, a mysterious box appears in his room. Inside is a doll, who can move and talk! She is "Shinku, the Fifth Doll of the Rozen Maiden." | ||

This episode introduces another Rozen Maiden doll, Hinaichigo and her medium, Tomoe. Hinaichigo is always sad that Tomoe never has time to play with her. Shinku shows Jun the portal to Hinaichigo's world where the dolls must fight each other in the Alice Game. | ||

Hinaichigo now lives in the Sakurada house as well. While Nori (and even Jun) tries to find out what Hinaichigo's "unyuu" is, another Rozen Maiden doll, Suigintou, appears. | ||

When a flying box barges into Jun's room, we are introduced to Suiseiseki, the Third Doll of the Rozen Maiden. She takes everyone to Jun's dream world, which is actually a lifeless domain filled with memories of Jun's past. The doll also shows them how everyone has a soul tree that grows inside them. | ||

In an episode of comic relief, Hinaichigo and Jun battle Suiseiseki and Shinku for the rights as to who took Hinaichigo's strawberry. | ||

Suigintou takes Hinaichigo hostage, so Shinku, Jun, and Suiseiseki enter Suigintou's world to battle. It is also shown that Jun had brought a doll back to life. Shinku suddenly collapses at the end. | ||

In order to save Shinku, and later Hinaichigo, Jun must confront his fears of his own school and retrieve a book he discovers to be there. | ||

We are introduced to Souseiseki, a Rozen Maiden doll who is living with an old man. The old man always sees Souseiseki as his late son, so the doll is forced to stay with him. Suiseiseki was traumatized by her twin sister's resolve to choose the old man over her. Suigintou soon intervenes. | ||

The old man's past is revealed: When his son died in a car crash, his wife fell into a deep sleep long ago. Now the old man calls out for his son, because he is in shock to lose his family. Suigintou takes control of the old man's dream world and entraps Jun and the dolls inside it. Plus, she also takes Souseiseki's artificial spirit, Renpika (and it's now her power too), and is threatening Suiseiseki to hand over her artificial spirit, Sui Dream, in order to save Jun. | ||

Suigintou wagers a battle with Shinku for the victor's Rosa Mystica at midnight. Throughout the day, Shinku is acting awfully quiet, and no one knows of her bet. Alas, she talks with Jun saying that to live means to fight. The episode ends with Shinku bidding farewell to Jun at midnight, for this battle could be the cost of Shinku's life. | ||

The battle begins between Suigintou and Shinku. However, Suigintou seals Jun into his dream world where he will break down from his past memories. Jun starts to suffer and think that he is good for nothing, whereas Nori, Hinaichigo, Suiseiseki, and Souseiseki intervene in the battle. | ||

The battle is concluded, with the winner being neither. However, the Rozen Maiden dolls have changed Jun inside and out. He is no longer afraid of the outside world and resolves conflicts with others. After the battle Suigintou disappers for a while. |

Jun has overcome his past and must now make up all his schoolwork before he can actually go back. Suiseiseki and Souseiseki barge into the Sakurada house as usual, the dolls play with each other, everything is back to normal. However Shinku starts to face deep nightmares about Suigintou. The Seventh Doll of the Rozen Maiden, Barasuishou, is introduced. | ||

Shinku claims that the Seventh Doll never met any of her sisters, so Barasuishou's appearance is a sign from Father to end the Alice Game soon. Shinku's strange behavior continues, and Jun is even worried. Jun and Tomoe also visit the doll shop of a creator named Enju. | ||

The Second Doll of the Rozen Maiden, Kanaria, is introduced. Her initial plan is to sneak into the Sakurada house and take the four Rosa Mysticae of her sisters. However chaos erupts as the dolls think that a burglar broke in. | ||

Suiseiseki decides to find a medium, but her only option is Jun. However she doesn't believe that he can help her. Ultimately, Jun and the dolls (Kanaria included) are taken to Barasuishou's world where she foreshadows the Alice Game. | ||

Another comic relief episode, featuring Hinaichigo trying to send a letter to Jun, Suiseiseki trying to earn Jun's respect, Souseiseki trying to keep order in the house, Kanaria trying to get into the Sakurada house (again), and Shinku and Jun in the background. | ||

Suigintou comes back...and she makes a contract with her medium, Megu, who is sickly and only wishes for her death. Megu even claims that she is incomplete, broken, and "junk". After hearing Barasuishou and Shinku out...does Suigintou come to terms with her dark past? | ||

Kanaria makes her resolve to fight, in order to still live, and in order to make her medium, Micchan, happy. However, conflicts get resolved and Kanaria fulfills her medium's wish a different way. However, Souseiseki starts to see deeper into the Alice Game...and that they should fight. | ||

After having seen an apparition of Father, Souseiseki soon sees the deep meaning behind the Alice Game. After having seen Enju and his feelings on dolls, Jun starts to wonder more about Rozen and his love for his dolls. Souseiseki makes her ultimate resolve - she will fight her sisters, take their Rosa Mysticae, and become Alice. | ||

Suiseiseki becomes worried about her twin sister, what is she trying to tell them? As the dolls are taken into the N-Field, Barasuishou and Suigintou are certain to answer that question... | ||

Souseiseki's fate has been revealed, and it's not a good one. To make matters worse, Shinku already knows what will come upon Hinaichigo as well. As Hinaichigo shares her last moments with Tomoe, she too knows what will happen to her. But there is no time to mourn, as Laplace, Barasuishou, and Enju have seemed to set Jun and the remaining dolls in a trap... | ||

Because they have yet to fulfill Father's wish, the remaining dolls fight Barasuishou and Suigintou. When things spiral downward, what will become of Alice? | ||

The conflicts are solved, the battles are ended. Jun soon learns the truth behind Barasuishou, Enju, and Rozen. This episode ends with many unfilled plotholes, such as who was Laplace, who was that doll (Kirakishou), and whether Father and Alice will be revealed. |
