List of Qing Imperial Residents in Tibet

This is a complete list the Qing imperial residents in Tibet, also known as the ambans. Of the 79 ambans, most were Manchu and only two were Han Chinese: Jing Wen and Qing Shan (see below). At least fifteen Mongols were known to have served as ambasa, perhaps more. The nationalities of several of the amabans is unknown.
