- 52 AD St Thomas the Apostle is alleged to have arrived in South India.[1] but this is currently under question by Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican[2]
- May 6 1542 St. Francis Xavier arrived in India.
- May 20, 1605, Roberto de Nobili arrived in Goa.
- Henry Martyn --missionary to India 1805-1812
- 5th July, 1818, William Carey, Joshua Marshman and William Ward establish the Serampore College.
- Anthony Norris Groves - missionary to India 1833-1852
- John Christian Frederick Heyer, M.D. (1793-1873) --missionary to India 1841-1871; established Gutur Mission, schools and hospitals in Andhra Pradesh
