List of Parliamentary constituencies in Humberside

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Humberside is no longer a county council area, nor is it a ceremonial county, but the constituency boundaries used up to the United Kingdom general election, 2005 were drawn up when it was both. The Boundary Commission for England continues to treat the four unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire as a single review area in its periodic reviews of constituency arrangements. The area is divided into 10 Parliamentary constituencies - 4 Borough constituencies and 6 County constituencies.

Proposed Revision

Current proposals by the Boundary Commission would retain these 10 constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current local government wards, and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies. These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2009/10.

Many sources list the Kingston upon Hull constituencies as just plain Hull, following the city council's own practice, but the official names have not yet adopted the short form.
