[edit] Anime Filler Arc Characters

[edit] Apis

Apis with Ryuji
Apis with Ryuji

Apis is a clumsy young girl who lives on Warship Island. She ate the Hiso Hiso no Mi (ヒソヒソの実 , a fruit that allows one to speak to animals). She tried to guard the thousand year dragon but she was captured by Commodore Nelson. The Straw-Hat Pirates helped her out and she was able to fulfill her duty. When offered to join the crew she declines and says that she wants to stay and protect the island. Later on when she is alone with her grandpa she also says she doesn't want to be in their way.

Trivia

  • She's one of the 4 filler character who made an appearance in One Piece games.
  • She's voiced by Chio Su-Ping in the Odex dub

[edit] Arabelle

The daughter to Don Achino and wife to Salco, Arabelle is a great ice skater and uses her agility and her partner to fight. She spends much of her time kissing or complimenting Salco and despises anyone else, mainly Sanji, who try to show affection towards her. Before being married to Salco, she used to have a good relationship with her younger sister, Lil, now she is blindly devoted to her husband and no longer cares for Lil. She was first defeated by Usopp but in the end she was beaten by Nami, she realized how unfair she treated her sister and apologized to her. Her name is a pun on the figure skating move "arabesque".

[edit] Badger

The minor member of the Phoenix Pirates was the first to be treated by Chopper. He has not shown to have done anything else.

[edit] Barbarbossa

Bizarrely enormous and very friendly, he is the captain of the Barbar Pirates, who are sand pirates traveling the deserts of Alabasta on a pirate ship that can run on sand. The Straw Hats meet him and his crew while traveling lost in the desert. Probably named after Barbarossa, making him the only filler character named after a real-life pirate.

[edit] Billy the Bandit

Appeared in the Zoro filler episode after the Alabasta arc. Johnny and Yosaku were discussing whether or not to fight him when unknown to them, Zoro appeared in the bar they were sat in. Zoro, looking for money for food, defeated Billy so he could eat. After Johnny and Yosaku complained he had stolen their catch, he left them to pay for his meal instead and let them claim the 5,000,000 beli bounty for Billy.

[edit] Brindo and Kanpachino

Brindo and Kanpachino are the second and first twin sons to Don Achino, respectively. Brindo is a more easy-going person while his brother shows a bit more seriousness. Despite being twins, the two act as if their age is a larger distance, with Brindo being "little brother" and Kanpachino being "big brother." The two fight using a mysterious style called Combination Play. By using their "brotherly love" they become human magnets and can thus repel and attract each other. They use to both dodge attacks and give them, mostly by launching the other away towards the enemy. The only differences among them are their clothes (Brindo wears a red shirt while Kanpachino wears blue) and a slight difference in the styles of their beards. The two resemble old fashioned gymnasts. A running gag throughout their appearance is Luffy assuming that, because they are identical, they are a single person using a "bunshin no jutsu", or replication technique, despite the brothers repeatedly pointing out that they are in fact twins.

[edit] Carmen

A cook rival of Zeff (Sanji's mentor) and eventually Sanji. She is very flamboyant and uses dance as a part of her cooking as well her general conversations. She challenged Sanji to participate against her in a cooking contest in Loguetown. Sanji, at first, wasn't interested. But a large fish, called a Bluefin Elephant Tuna, was offered as the first prize, and this convinced Sanji to enter. It came down to a final competition between him and Carmen in the end, and before the victor was announced, Carmen conceded defeat, knowing she had lost, but bore no grudge against Sanji. She is followed around by her two short assistants, Leo and Jose. Carmen never appeared in the manga and Sanji bought the bluefin himself while in Loguetown.

Other Media

[edit] Carol Masterson

Daddy the Father's daughter, whom Usopp meets at a shop, in the Loguetown Arc. Usopp is in a shop wanting to buy a "cool" pair of goggles for his adventures at sea, and trying to find his money, Carol comes in and buys the goggles for her father. She was cut out of the 4Kids English dub. (Usopp buys the goggles himself in the manga.)

[edit] Chip and Dip

(Chip)

(Dip)

Two sons of a bounty hunter by the name of Scorpion, they live in a village on Alabasta. After their father left their village Chip and Dip set out on an adventure to bring their father back.

[edit] Daddy Masterson

He is a bounty hunter and father of Carol. He is introduced in the Loguetown Arc. We find out that he knows Usopp's father, Yasopp, when in a dueling match. Daddy the Father had lost, but Yasopp decided to spare Daddy's life. However, this had cost Daddy his pride. Years later, he meets Usopp in Loguetown and challenges him to a duel. Usopp tries to chicken out at first but eventually comes to his senses and request a real duel with Daddy. Daddy instead issues a challenge where Usopp must hit a far off weather vane with his slingshot on the first try. Usopp not only passes the challenge but hits the impossible to see gem on the weather vane. Daddy congratulates him and Carol, his daughter, gives Usopp the goggles he tried to buy earlier. He was cut out of the 4Kids English dub. (Usopp bought the goggles himself in the manga.)

Other Media

  • Just like the filler character Carmen he appeared in the English GBA version of One Piece.
  • He's one of the 4 filler character that appeared in the game.

[edit] Don Achino

The father and leader of the Achino Family, he is a very large man who has spent most of the arc laying down on his bed and drinking. Currently, it's his birthday, a large event amongst the family, and eagerly awaits his present, the flag and crew of the Strawhats. Because of the wait, he becomes impatient and starts showing his power, the ability of the Atsu Atsu no Mi (Atsu meaning heat.) which allows him to heat up his own body and thus things he touches. Even when angered, he keeps a calm attitude even to strangers, such as Zoro when he had stumbled into Lovely Land. He even shared a few drinks with him and having a discussion about how people can annoy them (since both are waiting for someone). After being defeated by Luffy, he was seen being carried away by the Achino Family ship while laying on a glacier. When his family brings him his cake, his anger instead causes him to see the similarly-shaped image of Luffy's straw hat, and he proceeds to melt through the platform of ice he is being towed on.

[edit] Drake

Lieutenant Drake is a Marine officer stationed in G-8. He is often seen chasing after the Straw Hat Pirates during filler episodes, movies 4 & 5, and even in a video game for one of Tashigi's special attacks. He has mutton-chop sideburns and gets irritated whenever he fails. During the G8 Filler Arc, Commander Johnathan uses him to set up all of the ambushes for the Straw Hats.

[edit] Erik the Whirlwind

Erik the Whirlwind
Erik the Whirlwind

A powerful mercenary wielding the power of the Kama Kama no Mi (カマカマの実), Erik is able to use his lengthened fingernails to cut through the very air to create razor-sharp gusts of varying size. He was sent by the Marines, namely by Commodore Nelson, to capture the famed Thousand-Year Dragon, a creature with rumored medicinal value. Erik proves himself to be a dangerous opponent when ultimately facing Luffy, inflicting multiple wounds against his opponent, but proves to be no match for the Straw Hat captain.

His part in the storyline is short, but rather humorous. Playing innocently on Erik's power (Kama-Kama), Luffy often frustrates him by calling him Okama (homosexual or transvestite) during battle. In the end, Erik is defeated not by Luffy, who gave him a rather smart battle, but Nami; just as the crew began to climb the Reverse Mountain, leading to the infamous Grand Line, Erik had reappeared to extract his vengeance, but found himself tipped over the edge of the Going Merry and into the water by Nami before a battle could erupt. He is most-likely dead due to the negative side-effect of his Devil Fruit.

Because the Apis arc does not exist in the 4Kids dub, Erik was never introduced. All scenes with him, including when the Straw Hats are climbing up the Red Line with him having sneaked aboard their ship, were cut out.

[edit] Gairu

Another member of the Phoenix Pirates. He shows anger towards Stance for being such a poor leader. It was his plan to take the Thousand Sunny in order to attack the Achino Family and stating that "it's what Vigaro would have wanted." Because of this, he may have had a strong relationship with Vigaro as well.

[edit] Henzo

The searcher for Rainbow Mist. Lost his childhood friends due to a pirate invasion 50 years ago, and his attack knocking the pirate captain off of the ship that was heading into the rainbow mist. At modern times, helps propel his friends from the rainbow mist to the time period 50 years ago, with the help of the Straw Hat pirates.

[edit] Hockera

The third son in the bounty hunter family, Hockera shows a great interest in hockey, using a hockey stick and hockey pucks to fight, the pucks turning into ice when they hit. He has an obscure strategy to confuse the enemy by making smoke screens or to freeze them, making his foe an easy target. Despite this, his smoke screen strategy hurt him instead since he couldn't even see where his enemy was. However, he managed to capture both Nami and Franky inside the Shark Submarine and send them to Don Achino. When ever he is hurt in battle, he'll call "violation" as if it was a hockey game. Like several characters in One Piece, Hockera has a unique laugh: "Hock-key-key-key!" (As if stuttering when saying "hockey.")

[edit] Jiro

A small, younger member of the Phoenix Pirates. He has the most faith in his captain, Puzzle, and idolizes him for being so strong and honorable. He avoided eating with the rest of the crew to show Chopper Puzzle in hopes of healing him. At the climax of the filler arc, he went with Chopper to rescue the crew's flag. He wield a wooden club

[edit] Jonathan

Commander Jonathan is a Marine Vice-Admiral stationed in G-8 and is the overall antagonist of the G-8 arc. He tends to spend the night fishing and is often seen relaxing and meditating, but despite this he is a brilliant strategist. He seems to severely dislike broccoli and says "na" at the end of his sentences on occasion. He is Chef Jessica's husband, and seems to have some kind of unshown power, judging by Sanji's fear of him as he and Luffy flee the Commander's office, and as his footsteps make the floor shake ominously. He is also said to be Akainu's (the Red dog) protege. Though this was in an anime filler and thus cannot be taken as canon material especially given their conflicting styles; Akainu blows up a civilian boat in Robin's flashback (suggestive of dark justice) whereas Jonathan seems to tend much more towards moral justice.

[edit] Jessica

Jessica is the head chef at G-8 and gets angry whenever the other chefs are off task. She is Commander Jonathan's wife. She captivates Sanji when he disguises himself as a naval cook, but he teaches her a valuable lesson about cooking from the heart. Initially, she and the kitchen staff mistake Sanji and Luffy for the Marley Brothers, but become amazed by Sanji's cooking skills and Luffy's unbelievable appetite. Soon enough, the Marines stationed at the base demand for the Mess Hall to produce the same taste and quality of Sanji's meals, despite that the two are later revealed as pirates. In the end, even the prideful Jessica takes the pirate cook's lessons to heart.

[edit] Kobato

Dr. Kobato is a pediatrician at G-8 that faints at the sight of blood, though during the events of the G-8 Arc all of the other doctors are gone, making it so that she has to handle the trauma patients. However, with the help of Tony Tony Chopper she gets over this problem and later helps the Straw Hat Pirates escape the base. She often takes a long time to realize or notice things, such as the fact that Chopper could transform, and tends to scream very loudly. Mekao is her father.

[edit] Kodama

A young girl who Usopp met that makes special fireworks and wants to fire the 205 Ball her late parents made.

[edit] Lil

A small, blue-haired girl part of the bounty hunters in the Ice Hunter filler arc. She is normally quiet, but releases information to Robin freely when she had decided to play with her. She doesn't show any attacks, but by using some sort of seed, she can make flying fish do her biddings. She doesn't like Salco due to the fact that he "took nee-chan away (Arabelle)" and now Arabelle doesn't play with her anymore. She may also be able to control plants. In the end, Arabelle apologized to Lil for how she treated her and they became sisters again.

[edit] Marley Brothers

The Marley Brothers are a pair of cooks from Mariejoa that came to G-8 in order to show the chefs there how to cook better. They only use the finest ingredients and are said to use one million Belli to make each meal, earning the scorn of the G-8 chefs. However, thanks to Nami they got lost in the base, with Luffy and Sanji being confused for them. They eventually find their way to the Mess Hall, but prove to be much worse than the other chefs. They are given the rank of "dishwasher."

[edit] Mekao

Mekao is an old mechanic and shipwright from G-8 who shows great pride in his work. He becomes friends with Usopp and later helps the Straw Hat Pirates escape the base. Dr. Kobato is his daughter. One curious note about Mekao is that when he was talking to Usopp in the jail Usopp told him about how a mysterious figure was fixing the Going Merry in Skypiea and Mekao was about to explain what it was when Drake interrupted him. Since at that time Oda hadn't yet revealed the identity of Merry's Klabautermann (he would reveal it only later during the Aqua Laguna in the Water 7 Arc) Mekao could never actually reveal it.

[edit] Minche

A red-haired Marine sergeant who wants Zenny's legendary yet non-existent wealth. Ends up in the brig, to the general pleasure of all. He is the first Marine to suspect that it wasn't Smoker who actually defeated Sir Crocodile in Alabasta.

[edit] Moore

Minche's Captain, from the Zenny arc. Allows the Straw Hats to choose their battleground in exchange for handing Minche over.

[edit] Mountain Whale Dick

Mountain Whale Dick (also referred to as just Dick the Bandit and Wicked Dick in the 4kids dub) was a bandit in the East Blue who fought with a bazooka (although it looks like a bazooka-sized Derringer pistol) and was the brother of Billy the bandit. After hearing his brother Billy had been taken out by a bounty hunter, he went looking to finish whomever was behind his brother defeat. He fought Johnny and Yosaku and easily defeated them under the belief that they were the ones responsible for turning in his brother, however they were lying. Eventually Zoro turns up and confirms he was the one who had defeated his brother. Zoro beat Dick to claim his 10,000,000 beli bounty to buy two new swords after he broke his old pair in a previous fight.

[edit] Nelson

Commodore Nelson (ネルソン提督 Neruson Teitoku),commander of the Marines 8th Branch (as seen from the eight on his ship) is an extremely obese, freakish, Naval officer on the East Blue and overall antagonist of the Warship Island arc, who seeks the Thousand Year Dragon, Ryūji, for his own purposes. To that end, he hires a man named Erik to do his dirty work. Seeks the Thousand Year Dragon to make an elixir of life from its bones. Assumed dead due to Erik's furious attack on him after the return of the Thousand Year old dragon's birthing grounds.

Nelson's rank is roughly equivalent to "Commodore" (准将 Junshō), yet the rank he holds (提督 teitoku) does not exist within the Navy's rank system, according to the author. This is probably an oversight by the writing staff of the TV show, since Nelson does not appear in the manga.

[edit] Puzzle

Puzzle is the injured captain of the Phoenix Pirates with a rather high bounty of 100,000,000 beli. Despite how much damage he takes from battle, he would stand back up and return to the fight, thus giving him the nickname the Phoenix. He was seriously injured while fighting bounty hunters and was thought to be dead. Instead, he was kept away in his crew's ship until he could return to fight. With out the help of a doctor, he was seemingly going to die. Puzzle remains very calm though fierce in most situations, though this may just be due to his depression from the last battle. He had a very strong relationship with Vigaro and was upset at himself for not taking Vigaro's wish to heart. Under the bandages on his forehead is a burn that resembles a phoenix. He uses a long whip-like chain to fight. It is possible that the inspiration for Puzzle's design is based on Phoenix Ikki and Andromeda Shun of the anime "Saint Seiya", Ikki represents the Phoenix while his younger brother Shun uses his chains in combat.

[edit] Race

A shorter member of the Phoenix Pirates, he wears a Viking helmet and shows affection towards woman like Robin and Nami. Along with Torofu, he shows guilt for having to attack the Strawhats. He also tends to be more cowardly on occasions.

[edit] Rahgo

Rahgo is part of the Phoenix Pirates and is one of the tallest and fattest members. Like several other of the members, he doesn't seem to do much other than be there, but he does remind the crew the dangers of some things.

[edit] Rossa

A female member of the BarBar sand pirates who knew Vivi during childhood when Vivi and Cobra visited her town in the past, promising to come back. However when the drought took over the land and her city fell into ruin, she grew bitter as she felt both Vivi and King Cobra betrayed her trust.

[edit] Salco

Salco is the husband to the eldest daughter of the Pachino family, Arabelle. Like his wife, he is a professional ice skater and uses these skills in battle, usually throwing Arabelle at his enemies. He shows his love for Arabelle at any given moment, usually giving a long kiss or complimenting her on the smallest things. In the end, he was deeply moved in tears how Arabelle and her little sister Lil became friends again. His name "Salchow" is a type of figure skating move.

[edit] Satton

A member of the Phoenix Pirates, he is the one who poisoned the Strawhat's drinks. Despite this, most of the Strawhats realized it was a trick and only pretended to fall asleep, while Luffy and Usopp actually drank it. Satton has not shown to do anything else, though he usually has a stern look on his face.

[edit] Scorpion

A bounty hunter who lives in Alabasta after retiring there to raise his two sons, Chip and Dip. After hearing them wishing for a better life, he tries to capture Portgas D. Ace (after luring him there with rumors that he had beat Blackbeard). He fights with Ace, using a bazooka that can shoot a steel net, a high pressure acid gun (changed to water in the 4Kids dub), and a purple polka-dotted bomb that can blow up a mountain. When a landslide is about to crush him and his boys, Ace saves him with his Heat Fist technique and he goes back to raising his sons, after telling Ace about Blackbeard's last whereabouts. He also has an ostrich that he rides around.

[edit] Shepard

Shepard is a commander from Marine Headquarters that comes to G-8 in order to inspect it, but as soon as he arrives, he is attacked by Nico Robin, who assumes his identity after hiding him. When he is later discovered, he is thought to be a member of the Straw Hat Pirates, with Usopp claiming he is really named Condoriano and lost his memory. Luffy, however, ruins this plan with a conversation between Jonathon and himself, saying Luffy is ready to go. Because Luffy left "Condoriano" behind, Jonathon saw that he was not part of their crew. Throughout the arc, Shepard tries to take down G8, claiming it's a useless hedgehog. His weapon is a portable bazooka. However, when he first uses it, he holds it in the opposite direction and nearly wipes out G8's forces.

[edit] Stancen

One of the more known members of the Phoenix Pirates, Stancen is a fairly tall man with a strong build. He shows leadership amongst his crew while Puzzle, their true captain, is injured. Stancen usually lies to trick those around him, such as telling the Strawhat Crew he was the captain and they were only fishermen, or when he told one of the bounty hunters that Phoenix was not their captain and he had been dead for quite some time. His title suggests that he's either a vice-captain or commander, as the title in Japanese can be confused with either.

[edit] Tajiyo

Taijou is a boy the Straw Hats meet in the Stand Alone Filler Arc. He's a young Marine cook who tries to make curry. With the help from Sanji, he manages to make great curry. He also believes in All Blue, just like Sanji & Zeff.

[edit] Torofu

The tallest member of the Phoenix Pirates, he is a slow but thoughtful member. He, along with Race, have shown the most guilt for betraying the Strawhats who have just helped them.

[edit] Vigaro

A higher-up member of the Phoenix Pirates, he had helped during the fight between the Achino Family and the Phoenix Pirates. In this mission to help, he seemed to have died, though little has been explained. He seemed to have a strong relationship with his captain, Puzzle. There is also another anime-only character named Vigaro. Read below for more information.

[edit] Zenny

Zenny is the old man from Goat Island. He is debt collector who got stuck in an island full of goats and is suffering from fatal disease, though he received medicine from Chopper and is seen once again sailing the sea with the goats. In the end of Goat Island Arc, You see the ship is parked on an island it's unknown did he died.

[edit] One Piece Movies/TV Special Characters/Video Game Characters

[edit] Akisu

Appears in the second movie. The Straw Hats meet him and Borodo, who call themselves the Thief Brothers, while looking for their stolen ship. Its revealed from the beginning that the two aren't brothers by blood since Borodo found Akisu floating in the ocean when he was just a baby though they consider themselves such. However as the bunch reach Clockwork Island, it becomes apparent that this is Akisu's original home island made more evident by Akisu's incredible know-how of clockwork. Akisu manages to save Borodo after Bear King tries to kill him in the climax of the film. After the Trumps are defeated, Akisu is reunited with his parents who reveal they sent their child out to sea to avoid being ruled under the Trumps Pirates. Despite this though, Akisu decides to stay with Borodo.

[edit] Amanda

A girl looking for her father's treasure in TV Special 2, along with her two siblings, younger sister Millia and baby brother Honre, during which they stowed away on Captain Zap's ship but escaped along with Max and Bonnie, eventually ending up on a deserted island where they meet Straw Hats. Their father was an adventurer who always brought them back gifts from his travel, but one day he returned home and died at their doorstep. But not before leaving a map etched on Amanda's back to which she hates him for it at the start of the special. The map was what Bayan, her father's murderer, was after and forced her to reveal it through the his pirate chours's singing. However the Straw Hats manages to defeat Zap and Bayan then help locate the treasure which turns out to be a gigantic clam and pearl (i.e: the island they were on). This regains Amanda's respect for her father while Max and Bonnie offer to adopt Amanda and her sibling in the end.

[edit] Anaguma/Adelle Bascùd

Appears in the fourth movie, she was an assistant to a the boiler man (whom she called Grandpa) aboard Gasparde's ship, at first thought to be a boy due to her appearance. However once he was stricken sick, she desperately begged Gasparde to help him. Gasparde made a deal with her that if she could kill a pirate, she would be considered his crewmate and he would help her grandpa. She quickly left the ship to do just that and stowed away on the Going Merry thinking it was the weakest ship, though quickly finds out otherwise when she tries to kill Zoro and travels along with the Straw Hat crew during the Dead End Race. She then asks the Straw Hats to help rescue her grandpa to which they agree. Once they reach Gasparde's ship, her grandpa sends Anaguma with the Straw Hats so he could overload the boiler and blow up Gasparde's ship. When Anaguma cries for the crew to turn back, Zoro knocks her out revealing her gender to the crew when her cap falls off. After Gasparde is defeated, its revealed through her "Grandpa" to Shuraiya Bascùd that he rescued a little girl eight years ago from a river who could only remember her name: Adelle Bascùd, who happens to be Shuraiya's sister whom he thought was dead. Despite some awkwardness at first, she comes to accept Shuraiya who promises to start a new life for the both of them.

Trivia

  • It seems that Tony Tony Chopper knew her gender the entire time, which makes sense since he's a doctor.
  • Anaguma, her nickname, means badger.

[edit] Baron Omatsuri

Appears in the sixth movie and is the main antagonist. The supposed owner of the Omatsuri Island, a recreational island in the middle of the Grand Line which the Straw Hats come too. However before they can relax, he challenges them to a series of "Tests from Hell", pitting them against his staff. However the games were to see if they were strong enough for his man eating plant, Lily (which rides on his shoulder), to feed to. It seem the Baron had his own crew (back in the time when Gold Roger was still alive) who died in a storm, leaving him alone. He grew bitter from this and sought break the spirit of any pirate crew that came to his island with his staff/former crewmates composed of plant creatures that revitalizes after Lily eats a live human. Omatsuri also has powers over arrows that can home in on any target. He was defeated when the father of the Teacup Pirates shoots an arrow through Lily, killing the plant, then Luffy decking Omatsuri with a powerful punch, which, needless to say, finishes him, after which he seems to have finally reunited with his crew, who don't blame him for their deaths and just want to be a crew again like the Straw Hats. The last scene of the Baron in the movie is his goggles next to a batch of flowers (dandelions?) growing out of the rocks.

[edit] Bayan

Appears in the second TV special. Bayan is the main pirate after the treasure Amanda's father, whom he once knew and subsequently killed, left for her. Bayan could control people's actions by having his pirate crew sing a song in chorus fashion which is how he got Amanda to reveal the treasure map etched on her back and Luffy to attack his own ship. His plan is thwarted however when Usopp's shoots sleeping pellets into his crew's mouths while they're singing, knocking them out. When he goes to find out what happened, Bayan finds himself on receiving end of a Straw Hat group attack.

[edit] Bear King

Bear King's Kachi Kachi no Mi
Bear King's Kachi Kachi no Mi

Appears in the second movie. The leader of the Trump Siblings Pirate that rule over Clockwork Island. Has the Kachi Kachi no Mi (カチカチの実) which allows his body to become hard as a rock and can heat his fist up at will. He and his siblings ruled over the island for seven years in which they forced the scientists there to build a cannon for them in which Bear King would use to become the Pirate King. He also tries to force Nami to marry him when the Trump Pirates capture her. He is defeated when he tries to fire a cannon bullet at Luffy, only for the rubberman to slingshot it back at him with his Gomu Gomu no Screw move. Bear King catches it but the vibrations from the bullet's spin proves to be too much for the glass floor he is on and he plummets to his demise with his cannon before the bullets blow him up during his fall.

[edit] Biera

Appears in the fourth movie. Biera was the stroker to the boiler on Gasperade's ship, the Salamander though forced to do so to protect himself and Anagama (who calls him Grandpa). At the start of the movie, he is stricken sick which prompts Anagama to leave the Salamander to try to help him. When he come across Shuraiya Bascùd late in the film who tells him his past story he realizes that he and Anagauma are connected. As Luffy fights Gasparde, he blows up the boiler on the ship, causing it to sink and was thought dead. However Biera manages to survive (by putting lifesavers over his body) as well as rescues Luffy and Shuraiya after Gasparde defeated. He then informs Shuraiya that he rescued a little girl from a river eight years ago who could only remember her name, Adelle Bascud, who is Shuraiya's sister whom he thought was killed when Gasparde's crew destroyed their town. Beira then convinces Shuraiya to accept her, despite his brutal life as bounty hunter, and to start a new life together.

[edit] Bobby and Pogo

From the fourth movie. A duo of two giants similar to Dorry and Broggy (who also shares their same laughs). They competed in the Dead End Race. They don't make it very far through the race however as after the Grand Fall (a giant waterfall the ships must sail off of) they reach a curve in the water lane and are going to fast to turn so instead opt to increase their speed and jump to the next lane. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and the two fall short and end up crashing into some buildings, never to be seen for the rest of the movie.

[edit] Boo Jack

Appears in the second movie, one of the Trump Siblings Pirates. He fights with a weapon called the Toge Toge Armor/Spike Spike Armor, in which he can emit spikes on his coat and launch them at people as well as become a giant rolling spiked ball himself. Sanji found himself at a disadvantage against him as he couldn't attack properly in his bare feet (his shoes were stolen with the Going Merry). Once Sanji gets his shoes back however, he easily beats Boo Jack into submission.

Boo Jack enjoys riddles. He asks a few riddles about who will be the Pirate King (all of which the answer to are "Bear King") in the movie. Each time Luffy answers "himself".

[edit] Borodo

Appears in the second movie. The Straw Hats meet him and Akisu, who call themselves the Thief Brothers, while looking for their ship which was stolen. Borodo informs them that the Trump Sibling have it and he and Akisu accompany them to Clockwork Island and the Trump Castle. When Luffy and Zoro get caught in one of the Trump's traps, Borodo reveals that he was the one who stole the Going Merry with the hope that the Straw Hats would defeat the Trump Pirates so he could steal the Diamond Clock, as well as provide a home for Akisu who isn't really his brother by blood since he found the boy in the ocean when he was a baby. After the Straw Hats defeat the Trump Siblings, Akisu is reunited with his parents and Borodo starts to sail off by himself. Much to his surprise, however, Akisu decides to continue sailing with him as he still considers Borodo his brother.

His name is a play on the Japanese word, Dorodo, which means thief.

[edit] Brief

Seiyuu: Yoshito Yasuhara

Appears in the sixth movie. Brief is an unofficial occupant on Omatsuri Island first seen spying on the Straw Hats during the "Goldfish Dipping" game. He later meets up with Luffy and ask him to join his crew called the Moustache Pirates not to mention warning Luffy to be wary of the Baron. He later saves Luffy from being captured by the Baron during the "Shooting" game and again when the Baron is on the verge of killing Luffy by using secret underground tunnels he has created over the island. Its later revealed his Moustache crew fell victim to Lily and he begged the Baron to spare his life. However he refused to let it happen to Luffy's crew and helps Luffy by first snapping him out of his despair when he believes his crew dead then distracting the Baron while Luffy gets close to the monstrous Lilycarnation.

[edit] Captain Honki

In the seventh movie, Honki was one of Ratchet's subordinates. He has an afro and very large arms, and tends to say "ossu" very often. He attacks Sanji in a mechanical suit and is beaten easily. His name means "seriously".

[edit] Captain Joke

Seen in the first TV special, "Adventure in the Ocean's Navel". Joke is a pirate captain who was after a treasure that allowed the holder to wish for anything they wanted, however as he closed in on the treasure his crew mutinied and literally stabbed him in the back several times. However, for some reason he was turned into a bat and stayed in his body's remains where he waited for ten years. After this time, the Straw Hats came along and unknowingly killed all the monsters holding Joke's other bones as he guides them to the treasure. The bones are then returned to his body upon their defeat, allowing him to revive and continue to look for the treasure. He is stopped by Hamu, the son of a chief elder that Joke killed, as the Straw Hats (Luffy, Nami and Usopp) hold him down to keep from shooting Hamu with his multi-barrel pistol.
