- Darrell Hedric, winningest basketball coach in Miami history, repeat Ohio Coach of the Year, Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame, former Miami assistant athletic director and also emeritus, acting athletic director twice, former head of scouting for the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers, and former scout for the NBA Toronto Raptors. Hedric is credited for bringing Ron Harper, 5 time NBA champion, to Miami University. Highlights of Hedric's career include defeating number 1 ranked Marquette in the NCAA tournament and wins over legends as Bobby Knight and Dean Smith. Hedric is the only coach to have defeated both Bob Knight and Dean Smith on their home courts
