List of Italo-Brazilians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The list of Italo-Brazilians are Brazilian citizens who are ethnically Italian, or who have some Italian descent. They are best described as Brazil's equivalent of the USA's Italian-Americans, in that they are highly integrated, and usually do not retain the Italian language, but do keep some elements of their own culture. According to the Italian government there are 25 million Brazilians of Italian descent, which is the largest population of Italian background outside of Italy itself. Most Italo-Brazilians have Portuguese as their native language, but some are native speakers of Italian or its dialects. The following is a list of some renowned Italo-Brazilians, arranged by field of activity, alphabetical by first name.
