List of Hofstra University's academic units in the division of Academic Affairs (UNIV) [1] Hofstra University is divided into several academic units, each major division is distinguished by a gonfalon designed after a Dutch state. The Departments are headed by individuals called "Chairs". The Programs are headed by "Directors". The Units are headed by "Deans" who report to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
