Rusty's older sister, Casey is a popular, ambitious sister at Zeta Beta Zeta sorority, who is poised to become the next president. According to Frannie, two things were necessary for her to achieve that goal. First was her boyfriend Evan Chambers, CRU's golden boy. Secondly, she had to get Rebecca Logan, the state senator's daughter to pledge ZBZ. Casey succeeds in getting Rebecca to join but unbeknownst to her, Rebecca had a fling with Evan during Rush. This starts the feud between the two and it intensifies when Rebecca starts dating Cappie, Casey's ex, who despite her fervent denials still has feelings for. Casey achieves her goal and becomes president of ZBZ but not under the greatest of circumstances. Pledge Jen K.'s article exposed many of CRU's fraternities' dirty little secrets and ZBZ was investigated by Nationals. Casey, in an attempt to save her sorority admits to everything. Instead of being kicked out, Casey was awarded the presidential title but at the expense of ousting Frannie. A vengeful Frannie tells Evan that Casey was never over Cappie, and that she was using Evan so that she could win the presidency. When Casey admits her feelings, Evan dumps her. The new semester brings new drama as Zeta Beta is now the most hated house on campus and Casey has to lead the sorority back on the path to recovery.
Originally from Chicago, naive Rusty attends college in an attempt to leave behind his geeky image, but he cannot shed it since declaring Polymer science as his major. He wishes to pledge a fraternity, but his sister, Casey, tries to convince him otherwise. Despite Rusty's lack of social skills and the fact that Casey had told no one that she had a brother, he is offered two bids. One from Casey's then boyfriend Evan of Omega Chi and one from Cappie of Kappa Tau. After finding Evan cheating on his sister, Rusty gets into a bar fight with him. Losing his bid at Omega Chi but gaining favor with Cappie, Rusty pledges Kappa Tau. Surprisingly, he seems to fit in with the rowdy boys at Kappa Tau and Casey eventually accepts Rusty's place within the Greek system. The two begin to develop a closer bond. He even has his first romantic relationship with Jen K, a pledge at ZBZ, but he had to break it off after he finds out Jen's secret. At the start of the new semester, Rusty is still not over Jen but after seeing her with another guy, he begins to move on. Rusty is now focused on starting anew. He attempts to help Calvin find his place in the Greek system but inadvertently cause a rift when Calvin goes back to Omega Chi. Nicknamed "Spitter" after spitting out tequila after his first taste.
Wealthy, handsome and charming, Evan is a brother at Omega Chi Delta, the brother fraternity to Zeta Beta Zeta. Any sorority girl at Cyprus Rhodes University would fight to be his main squeeze. Evan falls for Casey freshman year and they have been the dominant couple ever since. Last semester was a big test for the two. Evan cheated on Casey with one of her pledges and in retaliation, Casey slept with her ex Cappie. Despite everything, they continued their relationship. Evan offered Casey his letters in a lavaliering ceremony and nominated her for "Omega Chi Sweetheart." In the end, it was doubt that would lead to the downfall of Casey and Evan's relationship. Evan always questioned whether Casey was truly was over Cappie and loved him. When Casey didn't give the answer Evan wanted to hear, he dumped her. After the scandal, Evan is put in charge of the Greek Task Force, set to enforce the new rules and regulations of the CRU administration as a result of the article. Besides the task force, Evan has to deal with internal issues within his own fraternity, mainly the idea of Omega Chi accepting his little brother Calvin being gay.
Kappa Tau Gamma President Cappie seems like the stereotypical frat guy. He likes to party, drink and hook up with hot sorority girls. But behind all that lies an very intelligent mind which many people are surprised at when they encounter Cappie, especially when he revealed he is fluent in Latin and Japanese. Cappie claims that his vast knowledge comes from majoring just about every available major at Cyprus-Rhodes. Surprisingly, he takes an interest in a socially inept Rusty and takes him under his wing. To Rusty's surprise, his big brother has a deeper connection to his family. He used to date Rusty's sister Casey and was desperate to win her back from his old friend Evan Chambers. After Casey rejects him for (according to Cappie) the seventh time, Cappie decides to that it is time to move on. So, Cappie found a new girlfriend, Casey's little sister and enemy Rebecca Logan. Their relationship hinges on whether Cappie can truly get over his feelings for Casey.
Rusty's friend, Calvin, is a legacy in Omega Chi Delta. Being gay, he remained in the closet to most of his friends, having had a bad experience when he came out in high school. He was in an on-and-off relationship with Heath from Kappa Tau Gamma, finally ending it after Heath admits to cheating. His close friend, Ashleigh, accidentally outs him to the Omega Chi brothers, leading to him leave the house. For awhile, Calvin at the urging of Rusty considered pledging Kappa Tau but after Evan went out of his way to convince him to stay, Calvin agreed to return. This has apparently strained the friendship between him and Rusty. Similar to how Cappie and Evan's friendship fell apart after Evan pledged Omega Chi in their freshman year. It was noted that he was a successful athlete during high school, and assisted Rusty with his floor hockey skills.
Rusty's roommate Dale is a moralistic Southern Baptist nerd, who voices his disagreement over Rusty's new lifestyle often doing crazy things to prove his point but ultimately caring about Rusty as a friend. He is a member of a faith sharing group, a volunteer at a local children's recreation center, and -- surprisingly -- the lead guitarist in the band, Darwin Lied. It was also revealed that he even has a crush on Casey. After the newspaper scandal, Dale starts his own group USAG (University Students Against Greeks). He attempts to recruit Calvin and humorously tries to cure him of his homosexuality.
Casey's best friend, Ashleigh, is a kindhearted and rather ditzy girl who always supports Casey in her endeavors at Zeta Beta ever since they met freshman year. Ashleigh is also the social chair of the sorority. She was often seen leaning on the shoulder of Calvin, who usually offers her some sound advice. She had a long-distance boyfriend named Travis, but she later broke up with him when she realized her feelings for Calvin. After she finds out about him being gay, she accidentally outs him to the Omega Chi house while delivering a gift to him. Ashleigh has since mended her relationship with Calvin.
As a senator's daughter, Rebecca was the major score for every sorority at Cyprus Rhodes. Even though she had her pick of any sorority on campus, Rebecca pledges Zeta Beta Zeta with a little incentive from Casey Cartwright. Unfortunately for Rebecca, it hasn't been an easy ride since. Rebecca made a powerful enemy out of her big sister when it made public that the guy she hooked up with during rush was Casey's then boyfriend Evan Chambers. Since that time, Casey and Rebecca have competed for just about everything. Evan, power at ZBZ and now Cappie. Though Rebecca proclaims that her feelings for Cappie are for real, she does seem to enjoy rubbing her relationship with him in Casey's face.
The former ZBZ president, ousted by National Association of ZBZ because of Jen K's article. She was at one time Casey's big sister. After finding out she needed to stay an additional year at Cyprus-Rhodes, she begins to compete with Casey who was her biggest threat in the sorority. Besides losing her title as president, Frannie was suspended. She was recently reinstated into ZBZ in a Diamond ceremony and is currently trying to repair her friendship with Casey. Frannie is noted to be a big Grey's Anatomy fan.

[edit] Zeta Beta Zeta Sisters

A perky reporter who went undercover as a legacy of ZBZ to get dirt for an expose about the CRU Greek system. She also had a short relationship with Rusty, who broke up with her after she admitted to writing the article. During her time as a pledge in ZBZ, she grew close to Rusty's sister Casey. It was Jen who took and then sent the video of Evan and Rebecca having sex to Casey, inadvertently giving her the means to blackmail Rebecca. After the break, it was revealed that Jen has moved on from Rusty and has a new boyfriend.
A national rep for ZBZ, investigating the newspaper scandal and removing Frannie as president of Zeta Beta Zeta and electing Casey in the interim.
An overly peppy ZBZ consultant who is sent in to straighten out the house after the school newspaper scandal. Lizzi, a stickler for the rules enforces many upon the ladies of ZBZ such as 3 minute showers and prohibiting the girls from wearing red lipstick. Her idea of fun is to start a book club. As a result of her rules, a few of the girls leave the sorority and the rest of the girls are miserable. Lizzi subtly tells Casey that the only way to get her to leave was for the sorority to reinstate Frannie.

  • Heath (Zack Lively) ΚΤΓ
A member of Kappa Tau Gamma who had a sexual encounter with Calvin during rush. Heath and Calvin started dating but because Calvin was afraid that people, especially the brothers at Omega Chi would find out his secret, he was very distant with Heath. Heath admitted to cheating and the two amicably part ways. He since come out to Cappie and the other Kappa Tau brothers but unlike with Omega Chi, they quickly accept him.
Not the smartest brother at Kappa Tau Gamma, Beaver makes up for his lack of brains with pure brawn which he is not afraid to use when he deems it necessary. He got his nickname "The Beaver" when during a drunken stupor he chewed on a wooden chair. He was noted to have a crush on Rebecca Logan which was not reciprocated and was noticeably upset when he finds out she's dating Cappie.
  • Wade Mathews (Derek Mio)
Wade is the Kappa Tau Rush Chair. He was the one who greeted Rusty and the other potential Kappa Tau pledges with a butcher's knife during Rush. He and The Beaver are usually found by Cappie's side participating in whatever crazy scheme Cappie comes with.
  • Ben Bennett (Daniel Weaver)
One of Rusty's pledge mates in Kappa Tau. At first, he seemed resentful of Rusty's close relationship with Cappie and the fact that he missed several pledge meetings due to the Jen K crisis. He and the other pledges later warm up to Rusty and together they come up with their pledge project. His nickname is actually his full name.
  • Egyptian Joe (Geoffrey Arend)
The quintessential slacker, Joe has become legendary in the annals of Kappa Tau Gamma history. He was Cappie's big brother and predecessor to the presidency at Kappa Tau. After 8 years at Cyprus-Rhodes, Joe was forced to leave but he did leave behind his greatest contribution. Joe was the one who built the Mt. Vesuvius volcano as his pledge project, in the process cementing himself as a legend. He shows up to advise Rusty and the other pledges to come up with a pledge project. Joe also makes a habit of using the volcano as a makeshift hut.

The Dean of Student Affairs, who enforces strict rules on the social calendars of the fraternities and sororities with a personal vendetta against the KT and ZBZ.
  • The Girls of Pi Pi Pi (ΠΠΠ)
Like how Kappa Tau Gamma is the rival fraternity of Omega Chi Delta, Pi Pi Pi is the rival sorority of Zeta Beta Zeta. The girls there, according to the gals at ZBZ are willing to do "anybody" to be the #1 sorority at Cyprus Rhodes. They are first mentioned as the main competition to get Rebecca to pledge their sorority. Since the scandal, they have taken over the title of #1 and don't hesitate to rub it in the Zeta Beta's faces.
  • Stephanie
Jen K often mentions her agoraphobic roommate Stephanie. She is never seen, but only talked about in the form of a running gag.
  • The Psi Phi Pi (ΨΦΠ)
The geekiest fraternity on campus (its name is pronounced "Sci-Fi Pi"). When Lizzi arranges a ZBZ mixer with this fraternity, Ashleigh tries to get them to back out, only to fall for their social chair, whose personality bears an eerie similarity to her ex-boyfriend Travis.
  • Lambda Sigmas
The most athletic fraternity on campus. Casey was once interested in one of the brothers, Shane, in the episode, "Mr. Purr-fect"
A openly gay man living on campus, he is the TA in Ashleigh's French class and she introduces him to her gay best friend, Calvin. After hitting it off during a coffee date by talking about America's Next Top Model and Tyra Banks, Calvin nearly ruins their relationship by acting straight around his fraternity brothers. However, Calvin and Michael continued to date by going to see a gay movie.
