List of Gossip Girl episodes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is an episode list for the television drama Gossip Girl. The series is a teen drama based on the novel series of the same name which follows the lives of young, wealthy socialites residing in Upper East Side, Manhattan. It is narrated by an unseen character, "Gossip Girl," whose blog is widely read among the characters.
A total of 22 episodes were ordered by The CW.[1] However due to the Writers' Strike only 13 episodes were to be produced. Once the strike ended, The CW announced 5 more episodes to be produced and aired in April and May 2008. When the series began to re-air in April, however, the CW "pulled" online streaming on the website in an apparent effort to boost ratings.

[edit] Season 1: 2007-2008
The first season premiered on September 18, 2007 on CTV and September 19, 2007 airing at 9:00/8:00c on The CW, the original broadcast network. Repeats are also aired every Sunday on The CW at 8:00/7:00c (on September 23 and September 30 only) before subsequently airing two hours earlier at 6:00/5:00c onwards.[2]
The pilot episode was the first television pilot of the fall 2007 season to be picked up by its network.[3] It received mediocre ratings overall, but performed well in key demographics and is one of the most buzzed about new shows on the internet. Its digital video recorder ratings were high, increasing the shows profitability. Scott D. Pierce of the Deseret Morning News noted that pilot presented Gossip Girl as milder than a lot of what's shown on MTV, but still warned parents of several scenes in the pilot. [4]
Notes:
- Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams) absent from nine episodes.
- Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) absent from four episodes.
- Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) absent from three episode.
- Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) absent from two episodes.
