This is a list of Emperors and Pretenders to the Throne of Mexico. For previous monarchs see also the list of Aztec rulers and the list of Viceroys of New Spain. However, there is currently no official nobility in the United States of Mexico

- 21 July 1822 - 19 March 1823: Agustín de Iturbide, former insurrection leader, deposed and executed on 19 July 1824.

- 1824 - 1866: Agustin Jerónimo de Iturbide y Huarte, pretender to the throne, also known as Agustín II.
[edit] Second Mexican Empire
- 10 April 1864 - 19 June 1867: Archduke Maximilian of Austria, deposed and executed by republican forces.

- 1867 - 1925: Agustín de Iturbide y Green adopted son of Maximillian I, also known as Agustín III.
- 1925 - 1949: Maria Josepha Sophia de Iturbide daughter of Salvador de Iturbide y de Marzán.
- 1949 - present: Maximilian von Götzen-Itúrbide.
