The reporter Tracy Wightman identifies the building where the trial is held as the "state courthouse" in downtown Chicago. The judge also calls the prosecution 'the state' during the trial. However, Bolt was charged with the "advocacy of the overthrow of the government of the United States by force or violence" which is a federal crime and should be tried in a federal court. The seal behind the judge in the courtroom is the Seal of the Northern District of Illinois which is a Federal District court, however, Federal Courts are found in Federal courthouses not state courthouses. Also, prosecutors in Federal Courts are called "the government" or "the United States," not "the state."
