This is a list of criminal, civil, and constitutional cases that were appealed from the courts of Ceylon to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

[edit] Colony of Ceylon (1796-1948)

Ceylon became a British colony in 1796. The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council was established by an act of the British Parliament in 1833. Its jurisdiction was extended to Ceylon by implication.

[edit] Dominion of Ceylon (1948-72)

Ceylon became a fully independent Dominion within the British Commonwealth on 4 February 1948 (now the Commonwealth of Nations). Appeals to the Privy Council continued until the right of appeal was abolished in late 1971.
