List of Chobits episodes

This is a list of episodes for the anime series Chobits (ちょびッツ Chobitsu?). The anime consists of 26 episodes. Episodes 9, 18, and an extra 27th OVA episode are used as "recap" episodes, looking back on the events that happened so far. The episodes were re-numbered for the DVD release; the original recap episodes were not included in sequence, instead being published together on the final DVD making the series itself only 24 episodes.

01 "Chii Awakens"

Hideki, a 18-year old student, dreams of getting into college. While he was out one night, he finds a persocom in the garbage, activates her and names her Chii. After trying to hide her from Shinbo and Ms. Hibiya, he decides to keep her. 
02 "Chii Goes Out"
"Chii Dekakeru" (ちぃ でかける) 		 2002-04-09
Hideki wants to find out more about Chii, so he takes her to Shinbo's friend; Minoru Kokubunji, who is a rich expert on Persocoms. There, they find our she has a sort of learning program and Hideki decides to teach Chii what she need to know. 
03 "Chii Learns"
"Chii Oboeru" (ちぃ おぼえる) 		 2002-04-16
Chii begins learning words from Hideki, who is running very low on money. He decides to get a job to pay for his living expenses. Unfortunately, all the jobs are taken, except for a position he stumbles upon by accident at bar/grill called Yorokonde, where he meets a high school girl named Yumi. 
04 "Chii Goes on Errands"
"Chii Otsukai" (ちぃ おつかい) 		 2002-04-23
Hideki comes to realizes that Chii doesn't have underpants. And since he's too embarrassed to get them himself, he lets Chii buy them with the help of Sumomo's (Shinbo's mini-Persocom) navigation system. 
05 "Chii Finds"
"Chii Mitsukeru" (ちぃ　見つける) 		 2002-04-30
Hideki is facing his first practice exam and goes to the book store to buy an English dictionary since he forgot his own back in the farm. At the store, Chii finds a picture book "A City with No People" which sparked Chii's curiosity. 
06 "Chii Weakens"
"Chii Yowaru" (ちぃ 弱る) 		 2002-05-07
Hideki begins to worry because Chii seems to constantly tire. He talks to Shinbo about this, and learns that Persocoms need to be charged. Normally, prolonged exposure to sunlight is fine, but in this case, Chii needs to be plugged in. When Hideki returns, he finds that Chii is very close to losing all of her battery power, but cannot recharge her because he hasn't paid his electricity bill. In a desperate attempt, he tries to take Chii to Yorokonde, but gets horribly lost along the way. 
07 "Chii Works"
"Chii Hataraku" (ちぃ 働く) 		 2002-05-14
Chii wants to find a job to so she could help Hideki pay for their expenses. But Chii being Chii, manages to get an accidental job in a peep show. 
08 "Chii Bewildered"
"Chii Tomadou" (ちぃ とまどう) 		 2002-05-21
During the events in the previous episode, Chii's defense mechanism activates and puts her in a trance-like state which resulted her jumping from building to building. Hideki goes looking for her. Seeing him takes her out of the state, and Hideki takes her home. 
09 "Shinbo and Sumomo Talk"
"Shinbo・Sumomo Kataru" (新保・すもも 語る) 		 2002-05-28
Sumomo is running low on memory space, so she asks her owner, Shinbo, what he wants to erase. He starts at Sumomo's "congratulations on moving in" dance, and recalls several main events and funny happenings that have occurred in the story. This episode is to recap the main events in the storyline. 
10 "Chii Buys"
"Chii Kau" (ちぃ 買う) 		 2002-06-04
Chii decides to use her money to buy the sequel book of "A City with No People" and a porno magazine for Hideki, who learns from Shinbo that Persocoms need bathing. Since he doesn't have money to buy a bathing software, he has to teach Chii by himself. 
11 "Chii Meets"
"Chii Deau" (ちぃ 出会う) 		 2002-06-11
Hideki gets a date with Yumi. So while he's out, Chii reads the sequel of her book and awakens a part of her memory. As a result, she meets a mysterious girl who looks exactly like her, named Freya. 
12 "Chii Confirms"
"Chii Tashikameru" (ちぃ 確かめる) 		 2002-06-18
Hideki is scared of a room in the apartment because of a horror story he heard at Minoru's house when he was asking about the internet through persocoms. So Chii decides to check it out herself. The apartment number is 104, as 4, or shi. Shi is the Japanese word for Four (四) and Death (死), and because of this, is unlucky in Japan. At the end, Hideki and Chi discover it is all a hoax. 
13 "Chii Plays"
"Chii Asobu" (ちい　遊ぶ) 		 2002-06-25
Hideki gets a DVD player and an online game from Minorou. He, Chii, Sumomo and Shinbo play the game together. However, Chii is somehow not with them in the game and Hideki goes around to find her despite the fact that he has no experience in playing online games. While doing so, he accidentally finds himself confronting an undefeatable boss and is eventually rescued by Chii. 
14 "Chii Goes to the Ocean"
"Chii Umi Iku" (ちぃ 海いく) 		 2002-07-02
Hideki, Shinbo, Chii, Ms. Hibiya, Yumi, and Ms. Shimizu (their cram school teacher) decide to go to Minoru's Beach House over the Spring Break. There, dolphins catch their eye, Chii drowns, and in an attempt to rescues Chii, Hideki drowns himself. 
15 "Chii Entertains"
"Chii Motenasu" (ちぃ もてなす) 		 2002-07-09
Ms Shimizu suddenly spends the night over in Hideki's apartment. She doesn't tell why, but asks him if he prefers persocoms over people. The next day, he finds out that Shinbo hasn't slept at all. But when Hideki tells him what had happened over-night, Shinbo freaks out. 
16 "Chii Doesn't Do Anything"
"Chii Nanimo Shinai"  		 2002-07-16
Hideki wakes up with Sumomo in his bag. Then he finds out that Shinbo has ran away with Ms. Shimizu. 
17 "Chii Manages"
"Chii Makanau" (ちぃ まかなう) 		 2002-07-23
Hideki has lost his wallet and cannot buy anything to eat. Chii wants to give him a meal to make him happy, so he uses her work paycheck to buy the food and make it herself. 
18 "Minoru and Yuzuki Talk"
"Minoru・Yuzuki Kataru" (稔・柚姫 語る) 		 2002-07-30
Minoru and Yuzuki tried to find what Chii really is and clues about the creator of the Chobits picture. Yuzuki told Minoru about Chii in those days back and the only thing they knew is Chii is not a normal Persocom. This episode is another recap of the events that happened so far. 
19 "Chii Helps"
"Chii Tetsudau" (ちぃ 手伝う) 		 2002-08-06
Ms. Hibiya is cleaning the apartments and Hideki and Chii offer to help her. When Hideki goes to clean the electronics room, Sumomo accidentally falls onto some wires and gets electrocuted. 
20 "Chii Disappears"
"Chii Inaku Naru" (ちぃ いなくなる) 		 2002-08-13
While Chii is on her way to work, she notices the third part of the book series "A City With No People" on the shelf of a bookstore. While she flipped through the pages, she was grabbed from behind and is kidnapped. Hideki comes home from prep school and returns to find Chii missing. 
21 "Chii Waits"
"Chii Matsu" (ちぃ 待つ) 		 2002-08-20
Chii is still in the hands of her abductor and Hideki searches for her. After he talks to Mr. Ueda about Chii missing work, they both decided to search for her. However, Mr. Ueda evidently tells Hideki about his previous Persocom. 
22 "Chii Hopes"
"Chii Motomeru" (ちぃ 求める) 		 2002-08-27
Chii is still missing, and Hideki is enlisting as much help as he can to find her. A strange e-mail image gets sent to him and Shinbo from the house of the infamous hacker, "Dragonfly". It turns out that this is Chii's abductor, and he is carrying out his research to find out what Chii is. 
23 "Chii Answers"
"Chii Kotaeru" (ちぃ 答える) 		 2002-09-03
Hideki and Chii help Shinbo move out of the apartment to live with Ms. Shimizu (now married to him). Then, they arrive at Minoru's house, where he is trying to find information on Chobits. He gave out so much effort, and eventually passes out which invoked Yuzuki (Minoru's custom-made Persocom) to try and hack the Chobits database herself. 
24 "Chii Changes Clothes"
"Chii Kite Nugu" (ちぃ 着てぬぐ) 		 2002-09-10
Hideki takes Chii to work. There, Chii changes into the wrong uniform. Ueda tells her it's the wrong one, but before she goes to change, Yumi sees her wearing it from outside the shop, and runs away crying. 
25 "Chii Decides"
"Chii Kimeru" (ちぃ 決める) 		 2002-09-17
Hibiya leaves Chii the fourth book "A City With No People". Hideki meets with Shinbo and shares his feelings for Chii. He realizes his feelings for Chii and tells her that he loves her. Hibiya tells Hideki that she was the mother of Chii and Freya. She tells him that Chii is a Chobit, and the Freya, the 'familiar voice' was her sister, who got shut off, but before, Chii or Elda, kept her heart, so that Freya wouldn't completely be gone. Zima and Dita wait outside to stop Chii from launching her program. 
26 "Chii's Only Person"
"Chii Dake no Hito" (ちぃ だけの人) 		 2002-09-24
Chii has chosen Hideki as her "One and only", and Freya takes over her body. Mrs Hibiya deletes their programing to Freya's request. Hideki then tells Freya that he loved her and also tells her the meaning of happiness. Freya accepts the fact that Chii has done the thing she couldn't do; and that is to find your "One and only". Freya subsides and disappears where Hideki and Chii live happily ever after. 
27 "Hibiya and Kotoko Chat"

Shinbo and Sumomo discuss the happenings of the story to this point. The stories are told by Sumomo, as she is discusing what information to erase with Shinbo (as her memory capacity is limited).

Hideki is on his way to college when Chii discovers that he has forgotten his wallet. After she leaves the apartment, Sumomo and Kotoko find out that Chii has forgotten to wear underwear. They run after Chii to deliver them to her. Which resulted in a comical ending.
