List College (known in full as the Albert A. List College of Jewish Studies is the undergraduate school of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Students of the College are also either students at the Columbia University School of General Studies (a program known as the Joint Program) or at Barnard College (an all-women program known as the Double Degree Program). It was previously known as the Teacher's Institute.
Students can major in any subject area at Columbia and also choose a major at JTS including Ancient Judaism, Bible, Jewish Art and Material Culture, Jewish History, Jewish Literature, Jewish Philosophy, Jewish Women's Studies, Liturgy, Midrash, Talmud and Rabbinics, Jewish Music, Modern Jewish Studies and Medieval Jewish Studies.
Freshmen and Sophomores living in JTS Housing live in Mathilde Schechter Residence Hall. Juniors and Seniors can choose to live in Goldsmith Hall or Mathilde Schechter Residence Hall.
List College is officially a pluralistic institution, though it is a part of JTS, which is the flagship institution of Conservative Judaism.
