Lisa Zbitnew

Lisa Zbitnew was President and CEO of Sony BMG Music Canada from the original merger in September 2004 until January 2007. Prior to this she served as President of BMG Music Canada beginning in 1998. She oversaw the daily operations and A&R at Sony BMG Music Canada, signing many notable Canadian artists including, Shawn Desman, Keshia Chante, Rascalz, Jacksoul and selected finalists from Canadian Idol; Melissa O'Neil, Kalan Porter and Rex Goudie. In 2005, she also oversaw the re-emergence of Tom Green back into Canada's hip hop arena with the album Prepare for Impact and the return of The Philosopher Kings.

Lisa has had a long career in the Canadian music industry, beginning in 1983, where she served as Managing Director of Alert Records, which was once home to Kim Mitchell and was also one of Canada's most successful independent labels. In 1990, she joined Sony Music Canada/CBS Records Canada as a Managing Director until 1993 when she became Vice President of Marketing at EMI Music Canada until 1998.
